Default Nitto nt-05 tread seems a little low!

WOW just got these nitto nt-05's and the tread depth ...... there's hardly any tread on there to begin with, one day of hammering around and they'll look like i need new tires again!

but i must admit they do feel sticky and i still have to put them on.

Don't feel bad, I just bought new F1's for the rear, and I have the exact same feeling.

260?? really I thought it was 220 ... guess I'd better check again. I've been mistaken many time before.

EDIT: Just went outside and checked mine. They are 220.

when i looked at them for the first time up close, it just looks like theres no tread and im thinking that they should look meaty like all new tires do . now i dont know if its just an illusion because the water channels are rounded off and far apartfar apart or? but they just don't look like you are getting a full tread depth. i will go and measure and see today with tread depth guage.

I checked the nitto site and it says 7/32 so thats why. tire companies man anything to make a buck!

They are semi-competition tires, so they have a lower tread depth to reduce heat build-up and tread squirm under track conditions or track like conditions. Pretty common for track tires. Street tires with full depth tread (above 10/32) are often shaved to help reduce heat if raced. Part of the performance car game.
