Stock vs stock the Viper wins...Just dosent make sense for the viper not to be able to pull..now intake and tune Z06 and its a drivers race.
That dyno of 560 rwhp is a little higher than I have seen them...Usually 08+ dyno about from 530-540 rwhp..Intake/Tune Z with the 200-25lbs weight advantage and quicker gearing might get the edge against a stock one from about 50-170...

06 Z06 is completely stock except for the roof recall!!
Honestly, it doesn't really matter but I know that it;s much closer than some, again, want to admit.

Viper is a great car, I would like a combo like Furman, been thinking Viper. However, I will have to agree with Obzidian based on what we have been seeing on the street.
Couple months back we had a cam and bolt ons C6Z put 6 or 7 cars on a head cam exhaust etc blue GTS and pulling him hard. That vette was making 520 or so rwhp at the time. Dont know the Vipers whp numbers, sorry.
Same day was a red GTS but was not faster than the blue one. We all had tons of fun.
I am told blue one is on NOS now so we will get what's coming to us, hehehe!
Saw Furmans track times on the new Viper, congrats, and as always, very impressive!

we have 3 08 vipers in our group (all bone stock) and countless vettes. i would put up money to any stock z06 in the world they cannot beat one of these 3 vipers on the highway.

The title does not call for anyone testing their STOCK Z06 with a new Viper, specifically one with 600hp.
I am not interested in ANY stock car so I just told of one of the experiences I've had with lesser animal Vipers. That's all!!
I would just really love a race my 480rwhp C6z vs a 600hp Viper regardless of the probabilities just for fun so in a way I share some the OPs curiosity when starting the thread.

To those who own a 4th gen:
How is the gearing set up in the Viper? I pretty much see the Z06 as a 4.5 speed car. 6th is useless for anything other than cruising. 5th is way long and sorta "compromised" for top speed. With most highway "runs" the car falls flat when it gets into 5th.

I know they have the same transmission but WOW, they're quite similar! Only the final drive is different.

Well either car is awesome. All i know is when i mash my pedal, my cammed ZO6 is a beast, and it only has 520 to the wheels. Thats plenty for my satisfaction. "for now"

Just a FYI, my bone stock '08 dyno'ed 555rwhp SAE on a dynojet. 80 degrees in the dyno room. I have owned a '08 Z06 also and the Viper is faster.
