The carpet on the passenger side tunnel in my 08 Z06 is pulling away (i.e., becoming detached). I found this old thread:

I have a similar piece of white plastic behind the carpet, against the tunnel. The dealer is saying the white plastic it is not OEM and will not fix the carpet under warranty. I'm the second owner and don't know what the prior owner did. The white plastic piece on my car looks like hot glue was used to attach carpet.

Based upon the picture in the link I don't think they know what is OEM on the Z06.

Is that white plastic piece in the picture OEM?

My car is at the dealer as I type so a quick response would be appreciated.

I put Maddvette's insulation in my 08 Z06 and don't remember that white stuff under my carpet when I took the interior apart...Cant say it WASN'T there, just dont remember it, but it seems I would have noticed.

99% sure my 2006 has that. My center console is off. I'll try to walk out to the parking lot and check.

Its in every Z I have installed a shifter into.

As a follow-up several have stated their cars, or cars they've worked on have the "corrugated" white plastic. Mine has it only on the passenger side. Wondering if others have it along the tunnel on the drivers side as well as passenger side?

Hoping someone might pull the carpet back and look for me. I really appreciate the help.

Mine is passenger side only.
