If I launch below 3700 or so on the MTs I bog.
I run 16.5-17 PSI and have good luck with them. I can make them spin hard if I simply side step the clutch at 4,500, but with a little slip and the same RPM, the car hooks hard. They will grab so hard at 3,500 it will almost shut the car off.

Dammit Richie , now im torn between the 17's and 19's .

I know the 17's are going to hook the best but ide have to widen a set of rims and use spacers to get the tire to look right on the car and the rims wont match my chrome spyders .

On the other hand , i can get 2 more 19" spyders that match and use the 19" nitto for street and track .

After looking at the video's i took last night the VY car last night did hook up pretty good on his first run of 12.3 and then got worst as the night went on like everyone else .

Who makes the best line lock out there for our cars ?

Im sure that was part of my problem last night , i couldnt get the tires heated up real well before launching .

I have ran RSD's Line Loc kit for over a year and love it. We have sold and installed many of them without any issues. LPE, ECS and other major companies use them. I highly recommend RSD's kit over any other one because of how it fits and the quality of the parts used. It is not universal and has everything made exactly for each model. Richie,
He said the same thing. 16psi and a 3500rpm launch and it pulled him to idle. Complete bog.

Ordered a RSD lineloc yesterday along with a tick master. Next up cam and fast intake.

I am Unreal's friend that he is talking about. I did not slip the clutch at all at launch as I heard so many horror stories about the clutch I just let it out fairly quickly at about 3200 rpm. I did not do a burn out with the 19" Nittos and they basically dead hooked at about 17 psi. I tried another pass at about a 3500 rpm launch with about the same result. I then knew that I had only 1 pass left for the night so I raised the tire pressure to about 22 psi and they spun but the car got a better 60ft. time. I think that the Nitto's will be awesome when I get the correct rpm, clutch release action and tire pressure dialed in. Unreal is running the Mickeys and seems to have them and the car dialed in pretty good for our elevation and track conditions.

I think that you will like the NT05R'sa fter a little practice on them. With a stock clutch, you may find out they are too sticky for it after you get the launch down.

Thanks Richie. I was worrying about them being too sticky with a manual tranny. I figure that I could just raise the tire pressure slightly to make them so they did not hook so hard. Our track is closed for the season so I will have to wait for spring.

275/40/17 M/T .

They always dead hooked with my auto c5 and that car was always running 1.5-1.6/60's on motor with a little over 500rwhp .

They might work just fine once i get a line lock and get their temps up before launching .

Im going to try them again Oct 2nd at BMP with a line lock and see how they do .

I know they don't sound or look as sexy as the big 345 meats, but for a stock clutch ( that you're interested in protecting) and axles, you'll have less rotational mass and a dynamically shorter rear gear. Even if you bog the car off the line with a dead hook, the LS7 will dig itself out of the rpm "bog" hole faster with the lighter and smaller 274/40/17. Another thing that affects us stockers is the TM (Torque Management) code in the PCM.....the larger 345's are going to put a greater torque load on the motor on WOT at launch, and therefore get hit by a larger/longer TM "penalty".

I was able to shift into 4th at the 1000' mark like someone mentioned with the smaller 25" tire instead of running out of gear right at the linewith the 26" . I dont know if thats good or bad .

An added shift takes away time .
