[Z06] my 2007 Z06 engine has not blown up yet

My 07 with <5000 miles is doing fine but I have to admit that I am a little concerned with the engine noise. The loud sewing machine noise with the ticking at 1500 to 2000 rpm.
I'm writing it off as a noisy engine but I'm a little concerned about the back to back track days I have in 2 weeks.

Lol... I think LS7s hate the owners who drive it like a VOLT and it gets fed up and blows up. If you drive like it's meant to be.... They are happy and last a long time!!!
That should be a hint to you garage queen owners... Please enjoy it.. Not garage it!!
Think about it.. If you have a hot blonde.. And not take care of her like a man should.. What will happen? She will leave you!! If u only do all the right things... Then she will be with u for life!!

I'm convinced the ones that are babied blow up. Mine sees the track every month even when its over 100*. Has over 77K miles in 3 years now. It gets me to work and back every day on the original battery. I go thru a lot of rotors, pads, tires and change the oil according to the DIC. It sees 7K RPM every day.
I warm it up to 140* before taking it over 3k RPM and keep the oil at the full mark.
I do not miss shifts and over rev.
I'm going to keep doing everything the same. When my warranty expires I may put in a new set of OEM springs

Someone brought this up before in another thread as to what 30 track days equates out to.
That and over 75,000 street miles, looks like it has held up quite well up until now.
Exactly. We replace pistons after 24 hour races.
I quote engine jobs every day and everybody says reliability is their number one request. They often say they want to build an engine with Katech so they never have to worry about it again. While I'm flattered that our reputation has been built to that level, what everybody needs to realize is that engines are a wear item in racing. Just like tires and brake pads, they have a finite life. Also like tires and brake pads, that life is determined by how hard you use it. Brake pads can last 30,000+ miles on the street, but I can blow through a set of stock pads in a day at the track. It's all about duty cycle. Same with engines. How much power are you making and for how long. People often assume that if you build it with the most expensive parts then you don't have to replace things as often. It's simply not true. The $130,000 LS.7R uses the best components we and GM Racing could possibly come up with, yet it gets rebuilt after a 24 hour race. Again, everything has a finite life. In that program, EVERYTHING is documented. Build books contain logs of every component's mileage. When something reaches a predetermined point, it's considered "mileaged out" and replaced. It's not worth losing a race over trying to extend the life of one component.
The only thing more expensive than rebuilding these engines on a regular basis is not rebuilding them on a regular basis and having a catastrophic failure that ruins everything. I know it's expensive to build engines, but we have to remember that we are driving one of the most competitive, highest level track cars that you can buy. There is a reason people road race Miatas. They're cheap to maintain. The Z06 is a borderline race car that is going to need a lot higher budget when you push it hard.

Most people so far are saying valve seat. Wish I had actually ever saw one so I would know for sure.

I pulled out of the dealership and was bangin the rev limiter the 1st day.
LS7's like to be run hard.
I have 23K on my red 08 and it chatters like a chicken and has ran flawlessly.
I love that car.

Well I have an 07 RF which if going by belief it should be blown,on top of that she's a wee bit of a garage queen. But then again I beat her so hard she's to scared to fall apart. The only time she's allowed to step out of line is on exiting a corner
