[QUOTE=Jawnathin;1578928177]Where are you finding this set for less than $1000? I just price checked Discount Tire Direct & Americas Tire and they come out to be approx $1300 before shipping and taxes.QUOTE]

The guy here at Discount said the prices on all tires made in Japan had jumped. A direct result of the Sunami and resulting damage.

What PSI do you guys run your NT05's at in the rear? Im at 30-31psi was thinking of dropping it a little more for more traction.
Keep in mind I only care about straight line not corners

If you persist in running that low pressure in NT05s, they won't last much longer.

Well what do you run them at? The tire shop for some reason put them at 40psi and I was bouncing around everywhere plus traction sucked

The best price online from "other" vendors is US$ 1,095 (inclusive of freight). Discount Tire matches all pricing, so, that is probably the best deal you will get.

The last set I ordered was $ 949 delivered to my door and it was, once again, due to price matching. If anyone needs the link or website, please shoot me a pm. I will gladly share it as that is how I got my deal as well - someone shared it with me so I am simply "doing onto others"....cheers!

I disagree.

Street driving about 28 psi (cold) is fine as if you over inflate them then the rears tend to bow out and wear alot more in the middle than at a lower pressure but this tire wears down more in the middle anyways.
Sure you can run a couple psi more when autox/tracking for some additional stiffness in the sidewall (maybe 30-32 in the front and 30sih in the rear) but you are not getting to runflat stiffness without going too high in pressure.

If you're purchasing the NT05's as a daily driver with occasional track use, they're great. If you're going to hit the track more often, go with a different tire because the NT05's get oily very fast & lose grip. You will overheat these tires if you're a pro driver.

INVO's only come in a 275/345 combo, so you will trigger the drag alert light on hard decels. NT05's I run in a 285/335 which is a lot closer to the stock ratio and does not throw any codes. The INVO's also have very soft sidewalls which I absolutely hated on cornering.

The only thing I liked about the INVO's is that they provided a very comfortable soft ride and were better in the rain. I kept my INVOS for about 2 months before yanking them off and selling them for another set of NT05's. A lot of people I know run INVOS on their heavy show wheels, and run NT05's on their performance all around wheels. I run NT05s on both sets of my wheels.

EDIT- Traction is also greatly improved on the NT05's. I would give traction a 10 on the NT05's and a 7.5 on the INVOs.

I don't know about freezing weather as I live in CA and HI, but they do just fine in our CA winters which do get pretty cold and wet.

Here's a couple close up pics of my NT05's....but I don't have any good action shots of them at this time.

Squishy, After you disagreed with my comment on tire pressure for NT05s and suggested to run them at 28psi i went to the Nitto importer in our city with a few questions. His answer on pressures was, and i quote, Nt05s are a high performance low profile tire and should, on a car like a Z06 ,that is obviously comparatively light weight be run with at least 34 or more psi. Now local road temp. at certain times of the year, will obviously have a bearing on this, but 28psi is not enough and this will cause undue wear. Also if you think that the ride is a little harsh with more pressure etc.it maybe, but you are driving a Corvette Z06.

I would have to agree. These aren't some cheap fat tires on a mustang that need 18-25psi to hook up. I always run mine at 35psi and have never had any problems hooking up in any gear.

I have trouble believing that 35psi would be the optimal PSI for hooking, that maybe what they recommend for just DD but I don't see that being a good PSI for trying to hook

The first pull in the video was 2nd gear just felt like seeing how fast the needle went up in 3rd. Idk about 40mph Idk if it will hook as of now since I only got like 100miles on the tires
