Jeez, the prices on the older z's have really firmed up. Don't get me wrong there are deals to be had, but I'm glad I got in when I did. I think I could get back what I payed for my car.

Yeah, I noticed the same thing.
I've been looking for the past 18-24 months and they just haven't dropped much. Maybe 3-4k from what they were. Ex: High mileage 06s going for high 30s instead of 40-42k or 08s going for mid-high 40s instead of 50s.
I hope they continue to hold, I just got mine less than a month ago!

I hope they hold as well. Less supply means they will as long as demand stays there. They have built fewer Z's since '09....beginning in 2010....which saw only 518 Z's built and in 2011 less than 1000 were built and nearly half of those were the Z07 pkg....
Both Z0 and ZR total producton combined were less than 3000 cars I think in 2011 and just over 2000 in 2010 (3/4ths of '10 production were ZR)....those numbers should support firm re-sale values at least until C7 appears....and it has to be more car than C6 to make that happen...

Thats definitely good for you current owners but very frustrating for those of us looking to buy a used Z...especially since i now have to get 09 or 2010 to be able to purchase GMPP

Yes, and as you are looking to the used market, so are the majority of others who are in the car market. When we see tanking or tanked economy the usual thing that happens is the used car market surges and new market tanks.
Sometimes it comes out less money with discounts, rbates and special financing terms to get new.....my Z was ZERO percent, made perfect sense to spread out my buy over 60 months rather than cash.....1.9% interest on my money is better than zero I have to pay in terms if interest on a note and me being paid instead....
