Refusing to observe the law is a choice. Getting a ticket is the result. God bless freedom.

With as much crime as they have in NYC, it would seem to me that their law enforcement manpower would be better utilized going after some of all those real criminals inhabiting that area, instead of harassing people driving Corvettes without front license plates.

I wonder how many actual serious or even violent criminal acts occurred without say a 5 mile radius of where they pulled those cars over, and at the exact same time.

What happened was The Sgt. demanded licenses and registrations and insurance cards and preceded to write up 6 out of 19 cars for "no front plate" . When approached by some retired LEO's in the group they were told "get back in your car or your going to jail" . I guess some "low life foreskin" has it in for us. I also have the feeling that the LEOS involved didn't want to do this but were forced by the powers that be. I can only hope that the person that did this uses his next paycheck to buy medicine for his family. Rant Over

I wonder how many actual criminal acts were going on in New York while all of the above was being carried out.

But then being attentive to one generates revenue, and being attentive to the other, perhaps not so much.

I guess "if it don't make dollars, it don't make sense".

Yes, this occurred on LI which has a high population density but it wasn't necessarily in NYC. The State Police will ticket anybody without a front plate or with a plastic or other cover over their plates. As for crime there are plenty of places in NY where you can get pulled over for no front plate and there will be no crime within 10 miles of your location since there aren't that many people. About half the population of NY lives UpState which is pretty much forest, pastures and other than medium size cities like Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and Albany mostly small towns with a couple thousand people living in each of them. It is mostly miles and miles of miles and miles.

Hey Bill, come on out west if you want to see hundred's and hundreds of miles and miles.

How do you tell when you are out west?

Your nav system tells you the next turn is 523 miles away, and you'll still be on the same route after the turn!
