I got the car back looks good as new. They fixed the cracks and holes in rockers. The hole in rear quarter inner lip and the front bumper plus all broken items in front area. They are recommending that I wait 3 months before I reclear bra the painted areas. So looks like no driving for awhile. I also painted the stock spoiler and badges (well back one is waiting to be painted) satin black looks amazing. I’m planning on repainting the brakes silver as the blue doesn’t match and someone did a **** poor job on install and fluid leaked out and ruined paint on back side. I think silver will look way better anyways. Also getting rims powder coated due to hawk pads destroying them. Going to try the z26 brake pads and rotors.

Looks good! 3 months for paint off-gassing is a bit much, but certainly no harm in parking the car until you get it protected again.

Thanks I was reading I should be good at 30 days doesn’t really bother me I have things to do. Also wanted to get the headers coated and starter wrapped and a aftermarket tunnel plate for heat reduction.

Looks great.....how is it running!?

I agree.....90 days is a bit much.....45 days should be plenty.....especially if the car is parked outside where its getting "baked" by the strong CA sun

45 days sounds good to me too. Normally it is covered but was advised against it for now. So yes outside getting baked.

The car is running great Tony. Such a blast! It is a completely different animal from stock. I still have had nothing to compare it to but it moves out quick.

Looks killer. Awesome results BTW. How's the stock clutch holding up? Basically any aftermarket twin disc (LT1S, Mantic twin, McLeod) will add 8-13rwhp to the bottom line, there's some power hiding in there. Which town in CA are you? I'm in Murrieta.

I have maybe made 5 pulls on this car since tune and tires. So far clutch seems be holding. When it starts slipping I’ll grab one just working on other things first. I live in San Jose. A good 6-7 hrs from u I believe.

Great build, I hear nothing but great things about Tony Mamo. How do you like the Nitto tire setup? I am thinking about getting the Nitto Invos all around and want to get opinions on them. I had them on my 98 LS1 camaro and loved them, but hear mixed reviews on c6 z06s.

Please no. Nitto's NT05R? Absolutely. Invos...no. They may start out fine, but all new tires do...even the OE GY's are decent when brand new. They both eventually turn into ice skates well before they run out of tread, regardless of age. MPSS are the best all around tire or these cars in 18/19 sizes if you don't want a runflat, and B-Stone Pole Position RE050A's in 18/19 if you do want a runflat.

Yea I guess I meant the NTO5Rs, currently has the MPSS on it and the rear is running pretty low. But with winter coming she is going to be sitting anyway. I guess ill just stick to the non run flat MPSS since they seem to be a good all around tire. I do need to get me a mamo ported MSD intake though, looks way better with the logos sanded off as well.

Tony was great to work with. Still answers me back on any questions I have. The tires so far are quite impressive in the straight line. The car all around is a blast to drive. Big improvement over stock that for sure. Everything I see shows it should be a solid 10 second car.

I’m in the middle of fixing an oil leak at least that’s what I told my wife lol. I have a couple questions. There is a leak on top of the transmission. The picture is after I sprayed it down with degreaser. I’m pretty sure the skip shift had a leak before because there fluild on the connector and on the driver side of transmission. After I changed the o-ring for it there is no longer fluild there. I’m wondering if the fluid on top side and passenger side is just there from when I had the leak on skip shift. I’m not sure though. Is the a common item on top there that leaks?

So while I’m in there I might as well through a Mamo RPS clutch in right? 😃 I’m not sure what it comes with but I’m planning on getting a katech remote bleeder. Do I need to do anything to the slave? I have a tick master cylinder which I’m worried will make my engagement super short with the new RPS clutch. I’m wondering if I’m going to have to find a stock unit. The car came with the tick master.

Im also debating on coating the headers they are literally melting ****. Plus maybe a heat blanket for starter? Where do I get one? I should I wrap my 02 sensor connectors also see heat damage.

Thanks

Here is a nice recent pic of car. I also ordered up a set of 19/19” cf10’s in satin black those should be here in a week or two. Any suggestions on which front tires to run with the Nitto nt05r’s our back. I also just took out the front heads lights to paint the inside satin black. Should look good

Not sure about your leak, but the RPS clutch uses a modified stock slave cylinder. I’m not sure if the Tick slave will work or not.

thanks for the response! Man was the bell housing a royal pain to get off. I’m hoping the leak was just the o-ring I already replaced and it’s just old gunk

The bell housing is very hard to get off compared to a C5. I wish I knew a better way, or why they ditched the two piece housing in the C5.

Nice winter mods! How bad was it dropping the driveline on jackstands? Did you use any special tools?
