Trailering it, but only for insurance against any bad luck.
Lol that’s awesome! Good luck to you I’m sure you’ll get it man.

600 RWHP with my heavy 20" wheels and runflats on the back (69 lbs. each !!! ) and a new bottom end. Now that it has 5000 miles on it and the motor broken in and maybe a bit looser, I'm going to put her back on the dyno with my lighter OEM wheel setup and some real E85.

My Katech Torquer 110, 11.6:1, and E86 versus my Katech K501 and 12.0:1 and E54.

I also run the standing 1/2 mile in the 162-166 MPH range

10's the first time at a track is a very respectable achievement! You were also fighting butterflies in the belly and learning track protocol. Quite the mental process to work through that seasoned racers forget.

I have always respected your comments and opinions around here Michael_D so it means a lot to get some kind words from you!

And yes you are correct.. the first run I was so nervous I hardly sit still. I didn’t even have a helmet had to rent one from the track officials. I didn’t know where to go or what to do, didn’t know I needed to fill out an inspection card etc.. I felt pretty lost to say the least. Had it not been for a seasoned track guy I met through a car group on Facebook who showed up I’m not sure I could’ve made it through haha!

so thanks again sir for the kind words.

Thats funny, but very real. Awesome run first time out. Do you....., did you.... ride motorcycles? I found that help me by knowing how to really hold the throttle and clutch in check on launch.

I rolled past the start line my first time, lol. had to painfully back up on my sportbike.... couldnt hear a thing!

Nope I don’t ride bikes. I have rode a couple dirt bikes in a friends yard/trails. But never on the road.

Haha! Yeah it’s a bit overwhelming at first for sure!

10's is getting it!!!
Matt, sadly I decided not to attend the WGF event

With the holidays coming up and we are getting married in the spring and saving for that I decided to wait until next for the 1/2 mile event. I hate that I’ll miss the chance to meet you.

I started racing in 1958, but I've felt the same way whenever I went to a new track and there have been 24 of them. Trying to find your way around is a challenge in itself and that's just before you pull up to the line for the first time.

Several years ago at an East coast track, I forgot to ask which side the turnout was on. In the dark, it gets a little scary when you're on a lone run your first pass. Just finding your way back to the pits can be disconcerting after the first pass too. I now go to goggle earth to check out new tracks before arriving.

I'm impressed that you did so well with just 3 passes under your belt. Having a coach sure helps, but experiencing it is the true test and you learned quickly.
