Would a 3 owner Z06 give you pause?
Was scanning through the local classifieds and found this 2008 Z06:

I took a quick look at the Carfax and found that it had 3 owners:

Would that throw a red flag for any of you? I personally find it kind of odd. However, there's no mention of the car having had new tires installed, which seems to imply it probably hasn't been driven *that* hard if it lasted that long on stockers. Do people tend to flip through these cars quickly?

I bought a 4 owner 2006 car with under 20,000 miles. The number of owners made no difference to me. What mattered was how clean and stock the car was. Its not stock anymore, but I was able to choose every part that was changed.

3 owners in 10-11 years...no, not at all. Pretty common.
Those are C7Z wheels (or possibly repro's), so highly likely the tires were replaced at that time.

Nope, you are most likely going to do the heads anyway. I would not really be alarmed.

When I purchased mine in September of 2014 I was the 3rd owner in 4 years, 2010 model. Not one problem with it other than fixing the heads. 21,500 miles when I got it to just turning over 56,000 mile mark this week.

I just bought mine 2 weeks ago, I'm the second owner. But there were many out there with 3 owners, not a problem. What I paid attention to is if there were three or more, some the last owner had it for 6-12 months and that gave me pause as to why? Trying to unload a problem child? A local car can get checked out on an inspection ahead to find out.

As others have said, depends on the circumstances. Not unusual for a car that's 10 years old.
I was the third owner of my 2008 Z06. It was less than a year (calendar and model) old when I bought it with 5,200 miles.
Have it checked out, and if it's clean and in good shape, buy it and enjoy it.

There is always room for another one
OP: The problem with multiple owners is that its harder to know how the car was treated and if mods were done that will know be unknown to you.
I bought my current 2006 Z06 from an old fat guy with 17K miles on it 3 yrs ago. It had new tires and thats all he ever did other than oil changes.
So I knew for sure the history.

I bought my 2009 with almost the exact same mileage with the exact same owner amount. It is common for these cars get bought and not driven. Go with your gut...and when your gut tells you not to buy it, walk away.

If someone bought my car they'd be the 4th owner of a 14,xxx mileage Z. Not an issue at all. These are often midlife-crisis garage queens. Last owner drove it 800mi over 2yrs!! As long as maintenance was kept up, and all records available, there is absolutely nothing wrong.

To answer your question, 3 owner wouldn't stop me from purchasing it, that sticker price probably will. I know it has low miles, but $43K for an 08 is a bit high. I'd be looking at a newer year Z06 within GMP warranty. I just purchased my 08Z in the mid $36.7K, 23K on the ODO, true it had higher miles, but you still have to fix the heads. Not sure what happened but prices on C6 Z06's on Autotrader look crazy this year compared to what I saw last year. IMO
