Update...the wife is on board and we are currently moving around some funds and investments. Also waiting on insurance quote but it looks like I should have it in my garage by next week. Too bad I am heading out of town for a couple of days later this week. I will keep updated and pics once she is home.

Buy it and keep it in the family. Be sure to tell the wife that. :-)
Also, if you decide to sell, the heads are done and my guess is your father in-law will want it back.
If your are an aircraft mechanic, you can change the heads.
What color is it?

Great that your wife agrees. Just let her know, that if a valve drops, that it will cost between $15,000 and $18,000 to replace the motor. Cheap insurance in my opinion. I paid a little more for an older Z last October, but with less mileage. If I had the opportunity to buy this car, I would in a heartbeat. Enjoy many years of driving what may prove to be the best Corvette ever!

Updates! Sorry guys I k ow I am stringing you guys along and all but we went to my in-laws this afternoon and my father in law was in the driveway washing the car. The reason he is selling it is to buy a new Ranger bass boat. He is recently retired and uses his current boat more then the Z. He took it to renew the registration the other day and had only driven 500 miles in the last year. Any way he is looking to get a new boat this week and when he does he wants me to transfer the money to him then. I'm in no hurry so I'm fine with that but hopefully it will be in my garage by the end of this week. I did drive it today also and I have to say the heads were on my mind the entire time. It's going to be very hard to not drive it until they are addressed. I currently have a PM and an email out to Kohel and AHP to inquire about down time. I would like to keep the original heads. If I don't hear back from him before I get the car I will call and chat. Cheers all!

If you see my daily blue cavalier there and the shop door open stop by any time.
Was heading to a car meet at Camron Park East. Some vettes, mustangs, hellcats and a few other kind of cars. Part of a FB group. Waco Sunday Cruise.

The A4 Turbo. That is a good looking car. Then you seen me pull out of the parking lot where my shop is.

Keeping the original heads is really pointless on a 08 Z. No difference on depreciation or value, just more of a downtime on the head swap.

Exactly. The days of numbers matching engine parts, etc is long gone...and its not like these are collector cars anyways. Kohle always checks wipe patterns on heads he send out just to make sure there's no casting irregularities, so you'll get good cores in exchange for yours.

Dang that’s a good deal. I wouldn’t stress it to the death to the point of not driving it. Hell one member posted a Z with 88k miles lol. Just sayin. Address it but don’t kill yourself stressin
