[Z06] Motive 3.90 and 4.11 Gears IN-STOCK
#41
Unfortunately I have the standard z06 ratios so the 4.11 help bring my 4th/5th gear up to something more useful.
It is mainly for when I go to mexico and find exotics to play with - they pull away huge once you hit 4th and it is over from there.
As an example here is a Mclaren 720:

Some of the GM/ Kent Moore tools will remove the bearings without damage, just have to see. Personally I would replace.
Expensive compared to what?
kent Moore speciality tools $2000
snap-on tare torque wrench $330
snap-on 400ft-lb torque wrench $950
Spare Z06 diff $700
3.90 Motive gears $640
at this point what is a couple of hundred to do it right? Just my opinion
personally I have a lot of pride doing the work myself

My local contact charges 275.00-350.00 to R&R the gear set. He was the master corvette tech at one of our local dealerships, and did most of the rear end work , so he has the tools and the experience to setup a new rear

Received my 3.90 set yesterday. Can't wait to get these in the car. Would be going from a 10.47 Starting Line Ratio to a 11.93. I currently sixty foot consistently in the 1.31/32 range and these gears should easily make it a 1.2x sixty consistently with a 28" tire! All on stock suspension!

Looking forward to seeing what you can do with the new gearset at the track. I have a few friends now going 15" conversion in the back with 4.11's, so it's going to be interesting how much their 60' drops are and what MPH they will tack on in the traps.
