Go ahead and boost a stock LS7 block and find out. Everyone here who has done it has told you it wouldn't work/last but you go ahead

Ask Bret BlownBlueZ06 and see, arguably the best FI guy on the forum. See what he tells you

No doubt it is hard to keep up with the OP’s plans because they’re all over the map. However, I’m making 800+ on stock LS7 sleeves with forged pistons and it was tuned by Fran. I’ve had that engine combo for two years. Not the preferred set up, but it can last. With the OP driving it, maybe not.

It isn't that the OEM block can't take the boost, it's detonation that it will not tolerate. Whenever power adders are used, the probability of detonation increases exponentially. The OEM liners are made of an alloy that is brittle, and it is not forging - at all. Darton liners are a good safety net, as they will not crack as easily as the OEM liners. This is not internet lore, it is fact. Tuners will never say they cannot tune an engine safely, and they probably can - but **** happens, so when you use a power adder, it's just good (and smart) practice to build the engine to take abuse.

Call Eric K at Horse Power Research. He is probably the most knowledgeable LS builder on the planet, and may have even been Fran's instructor at SAM. If not, they know each other.

I concur. That's why I add 100 octane whenever I'm going to run it hard.

This thread....

To the OP... Bro... How long have you been working on this car??? Its the red one right? That sits in your driveway, grass whatever. The same driveway that you were building a bad *** garage for both your C6Z and your dads Z07. Here's an idea... Get the car BUILT and post a thread once complete w description of parts, w pics of the build itself. Then if you're feeling really nutty a video of the car loping like MOST guys on this forum do.

This going back and forth and back again about heads, clutch, NA, boosted, etc is whats causing others to once again call BS once again and yet in the end you have a car sitting in the grass with a box of used parts for it...

Just a thought... moving on....

It kills me to see

people killing themselves

trying to make some magic HP < 1000 with all this $$$

If the goal is only 800HP, I mean, a stock $600 engine will do this for 30-50k, Used off the junkyard shelf from 2002-2007 Gen3/4 would be fine, 5.3-6.0L is what you want. Aluminum L33 is even more capable I am told.

Heres a random, stock, 02-06 6.0 in a colorado running 9's @ 1000rwhp~

It doesn't take... all that $$$ and mods. You just need the right $500 engine and a turbo... somewhere... cram it by the differential it will still work. I've seen a 2000rwhp vette with twin rear mounts around here somewhere.

Yup...may as well sell the ls7 to someone that wants a LS7 and grab a LS2 or similar to boost...fully stock...or even a junkyard L33 5.3

I'm told the stock bottom end 5.3 L33 model is the record holder
