Default 2012-2013 Driver airbag on 06-11 Z06?

Will the 12-13 Z06 driver steering wheel airbag go right onto the 06-11 Z06? I am ordering the 12-13 steering wheel with red stitching and I also ordered the 12-13 airbag because man does that combo look a whole lot better than my stock 08 z06 steering wheel.

I have seen a guy on instagram named bane do the swap on his 2010 Z06 but just wanted to double confirm that I will not have any issues and that it is direct plug and play.

Any tips appreciated. Also did a search on this but absolutely nothing on this topic so I assume it is either easy or very few have done this.

This is the link to the steering wheel and airbag I am referring to:

Yep, I put the 2012+ Z06 airbag into my 08 Z06 with no issues. Very easy swap.

Awesome, thanks bro. Which part number did you order? There was one "W/performance package" and one "W/O performance package." I ordered the one without performance package since I am an 08 and I figured they were referring to the Z07 Z06 or Z06 carbon for the performance package.

The part number I ordered was 20906699.

Yes, I swapped mine back when they first came out. I have an 08 and I did both the airbag for the logo and the steering wheel.though now I am considering a flat bottom Carravaggio wheel to replace this one but keep the airbag the same.

Same part number. It's such a small change, but it does make a nice difference. Especially with the alcantara wheel.

How did they know which airbag to send you? I am freaking out now as I noticed that the GS, Z06, and ZR1 all have the same airbag assembly part number..... Like when you ordered your's how did they know to send you the Z06 emblem one? Since I don't have a 12-13 I didn't supply a VIN. But now I am thinking i need to so they'll know so I pulled a vin off a 13 on Cargurus.

Yeah, I knew I couldn't be the only guy thinking this. I mean man what a change this small swap makes.

I bought mine from some here in the for sale section. I didn't order it new. I always wanted one, but I did not want that price that is associated with a brand new one.

I got really lucky and snagged it in fantastic condition for relatively cheap.

Where do you see they have the same part number? The GS airbag is 20926063 and the ZR1 airbag is 20926061.
