I do not know how to feel about it, would that not slow you down when you go to the 1/2 mile? Looks-wise it looks good, definitely looks odd seeing a C7Z Z07 spoiler on a C6Z!
What about your old spoiler? Is it Carbon Fiber?

Looks good Matt!
Ben, the center rear section is removable, which by doing so reduces drag for straight line events. On my C7Z I take it off when I feel like busting up some local C6Zs that only know how to go fast in a straight line.

I understand, I forgot about that part haha. I would figure the other two uprights would keep creating drag even with the center removed? I am only wondering because a buddy want me to run a wickerbill he is making and I am hesitant about it. I am interested to see what happens with Matt’s Z.

Doesnt look oem being so huge but as long as you dig it thats what matters.
they dont look good c7 z06s either. Your car is cool as hell though, love the black.

They create some turbulence and minor drag but it is not significant. And the whole, entire operation is easily removable in preparation for a straight line event. I adjust the aero on my car regularly depending on the track I am running on and the conditions. It isn't a big deal. Anyone who races their car understands that some prep work is necessary both before and after. So he leaves it on for the street, canyon carving/road course and then takes it off if he feels like it when he wants to mindlessly mash the pedal and go fast in a straight line. That's what I do in my C7Z. The wicker itself at full height does introduce a measurable amount of aerodynamic drag as a tradeoff for the downforce/looks.

Hey thanks guys... Yeah, its cosmetic, looks different than all of the other C6Z's here in Dallas. Once I throw some juice at it the drag won't matter as much.
I did actually move it down flush with the spoiler after these pics. I can remove it altogether or just the middle section. I have another WGF event in Nov.. We'll see what happens.
Yarb…. in person it doesn't look as huge,, I saw your yellow GS over here by my house the other day, ( Firehouse subs/Starbucks) as Preston Highlands. Had I been in my Z I would have stopped. A few more pics from the side.

Set it flush here...

It’s a tad on the large side, but I have no doubt it’s functional.

It will be interesting to get your feedback on the 1/2 mile events with this spoiler on. In an attempt to minimize me aero footprint for these high speed events, I actually take off my extended ZR1 spoiler and install my factory wicker bill.

I love the look of those wickerbills on the C6 with the only downside being the prices, They are awful damned proud of them when a fiberglass/plastic in primer is a $1000.00!

I've tested my C7Z both ways. And while the over-all aerodynamic profile of each car is different, the wicker at full height produces a meaningful (albeit not large) amount of downforce and related drag on my C7Z. Aerodynamic drag grows exponentially (not linearly) as velocity increases, especially for less than optimal setups under certain conditions. Drag is proportional to the square of speed.

As a final note, the C7Rs are racing at Watkins Glen RIGHT NOW. If you want to see how a race car like the C7R operates at speed in an environment it was built for, then find the FS1 channel on your TV and put the damn race on. You can also watch in car views of the C7R right here: https://imsatv.imsa.com/
I'm here now watching.
