I shipped my c6z from Texas to central FL, was ~1000 miles and it was $950 because it was right in the middle of the christmas/new year holiday time and the vehicle was inoperable (hole in the side of the block). If the vehicle can be driven onto the ramps and its during a normal time of the year, a 1000 mile haul runs around $700

Thanks for catching it! I I’d think my wife was lurking here just kidding....
he already had the plane ticket cost listed.
so add $120 for hotel, meals he would have bought anyway (unless he is fasting haha) but since they’re eating out, it might be an additional cost of, generously, $10 each, so $60

so that’s $562. Let’s make it $700 just for fun, adding in wear and tear and depreciation (which that’s pretty generous) and since there is a nicer hotel for just a little more and we definitely had to burn a little extra gas to see how this puppy moves and you can’t do a road trip without a few bags of twizzlers, beef jerky or peach rings....

His guess of the estimate was 1800.
Which means he would save $1100. So he would get ‘paid’ $550 a day to do a fun road trip. Well, hopefully it would be fun!

but his actual estimate was $200 more so he would really save ~$1300.

Maybe I missed something, but if I didn’t, to me, that’s not not “all that much more”!

Man that sucks...but damn you were relentless for that $14.99! I get it though...its the principle, not the money.

Your pursuit of said $14.99 reminded me of an old movie...

Trust me the $14.99 is CHUMP CHANGE to me, it is clearly the principle of this case and how they tried to make me look like the bad guy.
I just want to teach these low lives that you don't treat a paying customer in this disgusting manner. With all the agencies we have notified I'm sure they won't be in business to much longer.

When they decide to send me the $14.99, I will take the check and line my cats litter box with it. After about a week I will return it to them just to let them know how much their $14.99 means to me.
* I HAVE MADE IT MY LIFE LONG AMBISION NEVER TO GET SCREWED BY ANYONE, THEY MESSED WITH THE WRONG GUY ! ! !

You did miss it, read it again, it's in there.....time. Maybe if you're retired and have time to kill, but to me $550 isn't worth a minimum of 2 full days. In fact if those are days that I'd be working, I'd be taking a net loss. I've shipped 5 cars. You are not convincing me.

Ah, but I didn’t! I’m not trying to convince anyone of anything - just trying to explore all options: you can pay $2000 (acccording to his estimate) or save about $1300 of that and make it a fun vacation/roadtrip.

Don't miss it: you’d get ‘paid’ $1300 (not $550) to take a two-day vacation. (the time you keep referring to is here: the time is the vacation). That is, if you’d consider it a vacation.
Some, like me, might. Others, like you, would not.

If i had money and no time, i’d ship. If I had time and no money, I’d drive. If I had both, I would choose the more adventurous route. But that’s me.

I tried to list pros pros and cons earlier. One big pro would be avoiding potential issues like those posted previously where, months later, they are still embroiled in a contentious dispute.

Some people like to look at the numbers. I think there was an example put up where someone paid as much to drive as it would have cost to ship and it was a miserable time.

Tl,dr: not trying to convince you or anyone else. If the op (or anyone else) likes roadtrips, this is an opportunity to essentially get paid to take a vacation.

sounds like you could use a vacation of some sort regardless!

I'm with you Jfry...I typically have more vacation days than I can use, and I love road trips. I would always looks at an opportunity like this to see if there's some cool stops along the way driving from A to B. Really miss road trips living on an island...

No right or wrong answer though...whatever floats your boat.
