Default Hinson motor mounts install

My 06Z has 55k miles an I just installed a MSD intake. I am thinking about installing the 3/8" lower mounts. Anyone know of any good tutorials how to do this or is it a fairly straight forward install? Any special tools needed?

I've read that the shorter ones should be shimmed ~1/8" or else it creates clearance issues between the front leaf and the oil pan. IIRC, it becomes an issue when the car is lifted off the ground and wheels/suspension is full hang, causing the spring arch to push against the pan. I'll see if I can find that related thread...

EDIT...Here: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ts-issues.html

If your driving habits haven't ruptured your OE mounts after 55K, I'd just throw in a new set of OE mounts. If you feel you need cowl to MSD clearance, maybe just opt for the LPE cradle spacers (linked in this same thread in post 28)

I have clearance right now since my mounts are old. I would like the added clearance for my MSD AND the benefit of , less vibration from the factory mounts. Thanks, spacers it will be.

Well, I installed factor mounts. Driver side was fairly easy. Passenger side, not so much. I had to unbolt the passenger side exhaust manifold. I also cut about 3/4 inch off of the top bolt of the mount to help get it back in. I know people say they leak oil when they go bad . Mine did not leak until I took them out an turned them over, they were ripped on the top. Big stinky mess. I have to admit that when doing my clutch an now the motor mounts a wobble 13mm is invaluable.
