I'm willing to accept that....only up to a certain point though. If the masses continue to blindly follow that guidance, the aftermarket will continue to charge the vette tax.
Gotta remember, I came from the mustangs. I'll do all my own work and try to squeeze 3 nickels from a dime!!! LOL

Most vette owners came from mustangs actually. Seems to be a common transition.
There is no vette tax when its an oem part - but I know what you are saying. Another reason is a lot of us have worked a lot on cars in the past and come from being tight on $ for mods / parts but suggest this as a small 100$ item that is better to suck it up and spend it now vs risk it later and have to take it all apart again.
The value of time begins to be more important.

I would find both previous owners of these Z's and run them both over....With all the C6 Z06's out there there's no reason to go through all this...I feel for you guys..

Actually just got home from picking up the new trans. Completely rebuilt with bronze pads 1-4, hybrid blockers and ZR1 pickup tube. Now the install starts. I have some leftover parts that are still good and will be selling those to offset costs.
I don't want repeat this, is there a procedure for filling a new trans. Guy who rebuilt it is a mechanic and says if I don't prime the lines, when the car starts the pump will suck the case low and possibly reseize the input shaft bearing. Says the hellcats all have this problem. Is there a specific way to fill using a cooler line or should I just turn the trans on its side and put 4.5 quarts in it?

But if they didnt and it was just unfortunate timing, why should they be responsible??
i sold an immaculate Tahoe once with 40k miles. Never had a lick of trouble. One week later I heard the transmission went out.
I’m glad the op is getting everything sorted, albeit with a lot of effort! It will be a sweet ride.

The entire system, which includes the lines, cooler and trans holds ~4.5 quarts. The transmission itself holds about 3.5 quarts. Just fill it up, install drain plug and run the car for a few minutes in gear on jack stands or your lift, shut off and let cool, then top it off. Rinse/repeat until it won't take any more fluid. Every Z must be filled this way. Which is to top it off (sometimes multiple times). This allows the lines and cooler to be filled.

They are such a pain. The guys and shops that do this regularly no doubt can bust it out quickly but it took me a long time - especially dealing with all of the wires and wire hangers.
Looks good though!
