Default Magnuson mp122

Anybody got a mp122 ? How much more power will it support than a 112 ? What cam would you use with a mp122 ? How about a head change to AFR 225s ? I'm looking to have Next Level Performance do this just waiting on programing for 07s and new mp122. Do you think changing the radiator to a double core alum. is a good idea with this set up? Thanks for all your help. I want to get it all done at once saves on instal charges. The car is just a toy not a driver.

We've had this conversation via PM. Wassa matter? Don't trust me?

I thought the cam you were discussing was a little much - and not a blower cam. We had the guys at Comp spec a cam for me based on heads and blower capacity (MP122). Ended up being 224/232 581/595 115LSA. Car goes back together with my AFR225/70cc heads, and freshly upgraded 122 blower on Monday. Norris retunes on Friday.

With the 122's just out, I'm likely going to be amongst the first running them on a C6 - just as I was amongst the 1st C6 Maggies shipped and definately the 1st with a cam and AFR225 heads...

I'll post the #'s on a new thread here on friday...

Rick

Wow Rick. I'm still waiting for my 122. Noris will be doing the instal and the cam. Have had it on order since early Sept. Can't wait to see what yours does. Will let you know as soon as Mike gets mine done. Hopefullly in time for the Turkey rod run in Daytona. I left the cam selection up to Mike. He knows a lot more about this than me.

Low comp 403 lpe with mp 122 3200 tq converter that is too loose and we are installing 2900 tq very soon.Z06 back fenders , micheline pilot sports 345/30/19,RPM level 5 trans and harden output shafts. Zero traction till just befor the 1/8. You can start off in 2nd where it can not down shift intol first and it still will burn tires . you have to keep out of wot till we get in to 3rd . have only had 3 pass 1/4 mile and ran 12.00 at 123.50 with no traction at 18 psi on pilot sports.60 ft at 2.55. You can not go wot at 75 mph with out lighting up tires :. still a work in progress. hope to post some pic,s soon. LPE has been great to work with !

Who has put the magnusson on a 427 and what did it make??!! This may be my next mod, if someone can convince me it can be done reliability and with drivability. What kind of numbers will it put out?

Here is what I already have. http://www.motorsporttech.com/print/...lRay_03_02.jpg

http://www.motorsporttech.com/print/...rochure01.html

Who wants the challenge to go FI on this beast? Must stay drivable at the end of the day. Starting dyno is 507 whp and 519 wtq. Where can we go from there?

122 is on.

10lbs @ 5500rpm with 3.4 pulley. Tune on Friday.

WORD TO THE WISE!!!!

This WILL NOT FIT the RK SPORT HOOD WITHOUT NOTCHING THE CROSS-SUPPORT ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE HOOD (sorry for yelling, I wanted to get everyone's attention)...

Seems like I'm always the guinea pig for these guys. The nosecone pulley contacts the hood (and started shredding the edge of the belt). I had to take a notch almost 1/2 deep (in in depth & length) and 1.5" wide out of the "rib" that runs widthwise accross the hood near the cowling (the part that seals against the rubber seal on the cowling). Supposedly this was test fit on Jerry Magnusons C6 with the RK hood, but maybe he has a prototype hood on his. I suspect RK is going to have to make a "mod" to thier mold for this piece, to accomodate this "anomoly". I dont know how they're pully'ing this thing for the LS7, but I'd be "wary" of the hood clearance there too...

I'm just damn glad to have to car back (after 6 weeks of driving a rented Ford Taurus do to a valve issue). With Crane Hi-Perf Lifters and Gold Race Roller Rockers, it purrs like a fine swiss watch now...

The suspense is killing me.

Hey Rick - Is the bottom end stock? Are you able to run 10 lbs due to the 70cc heads?

I have seen many people going with the AFRs but usually with the smaller CC that keeps the compression ration up. I was thinking that going with larger CC heads would be a great way to up the boost without risking the bottom end.

In any case....at least give us an update!
