Default Headers and supercharger Boost

A very basic question. How much in general would aftermarket headers drop the supercharger boost? I am ordering the vortech 6.5 PSI Z06 charger this weekend, and I was wondering how much I could lower the boost using LG headers, rather than changing the pulley itself. Do you think the boost would drop below 5 PSI?

Ok that's certain, but will the Headers be enough to compensate for the loss in power due to the loss in boost? Again without having to replace the pulley.

Ill tell you why im asking those questions, I want to make the same amout of power (575 RWHP) the vortech kit is doing, with LESS boost and make it safer on the engine.

there will be NO loss in power, due to loss of boost, just more efficient power...

That's exactly what i wanted to hear, thank you

Now, how much lower boost do you think I would be seeing, I should obviously try it to know, but I mean just throw a number.

You can order one size smaller pulley to get the boost back, that's what I'm going to do.

I would agree, do it while your installing it to save you time. Good luck with it.

You'll not lose power. I have the Vortech kit on my car and absolutley love it. You'll be pleased.

please pm me if you have any questions. I don't check the board that often but will check in periodically.

Cheers!!!

No actually, I WANT the boost to intentionally go down, without loosing power. The Vortech already makes 575 RWHP on a Mustang dyno according to Motor Trend, and that is 600 RWHP on a DynoJet, given that you're reaching the limits with the stock fuel system. So for me, running that much power for considerably lower boost is quite re-assuring, given that even the 6.5 PSI was designed to run at a "safe boost" level according to Vortech.
