Since my encounter with the M6, I've discovered that the owner lives very near me, and I have seen him several times. He has even started waving! I think that's pretty cool.
As much as I like the M6, it gets walked badly by a stock Z06. My 08 and I just had a run in with one. Slow roll, fast roll.....no matter. Pulled away from it like he was tied to a phone poll. Nice car though

From what mph? M6 will walk all over a LS3 over 100.

BTW Why is this still in C6 FI?
This is not true. My catback, k&N airfilter and tuned LS2 hung nose to nose with a brandnew M6 a month or so ago all the way from a 40-145ish roll. Neither of us had the advantage. The LS3 should be stronger than my car with the little mods I had. Now I have a blower and not many cars can keep up.

For the run with my Z06, slow roll= 10mph-100ish for my car. He was left so bad it made no sense to coontinue. I had at least 5-6 cars on him by the time I got half way through second gear.
Fast roll= 50-145ish. Although again, he was so far behind it made little sense to continue. We did it like that twice. He then pulled up next to me and said he was a few liters light to be picking a fight with a Z06. Cool guy, nice car. Just heavy......

Few liters light
That's a Z06 tho...
LS3 it should be a good fight. at 10mph even the LS2 has a huge advantage it's called TQ! The M falls flat on it's face at low speeds.

nice, , haven't encountered one yet, glad to know the outcome,
The M5 and M6 are top end cars. Because of their lack of low end and neutered US launch control, they don't leave the line very hard.
Although not an M6, I did get a chance to drag race an M5. When I first got my E55 and the M5 was just released, a friend and I met up at a private track day. It was a nice day, but the track prep was less than ideal. I drove my E55 and the M5. I got a bunch of passes in the M5 to test out different launch techniques.
The best time I got in the M5 was a 12.5@118 w/a 2.1 60'. That was leaving with no wheelspin, launching as hard as I could. In my E55, I ran a 12.1@115 w/a 1.85 60'. That was traction limited, squeezing the throttle slowly in first gear to avoid too much wheelspin.
I have no doubt that from a rolling start an M5 or M6 could hang with a stock C6, but I don't see them keeping up with a C6 Z06. I think it would be a driver's race with a standard C6.
