Do you need a wide body conversion and fatter tires to effectively use a Maggie 112 or 122 supercharged corvette? Anyone supercharged with stock c6 tires?

I ran 315 Nitto555 drag radials on the back of my Maggied C5 and could roast them in first with any serious blip of the throttle. Maybe M/T ET Street Radials would hold if they come in the right size, but my $.02 says nothing holds a Maggied LS motor in first gear on the street.
But I'm really hoping someone will chime in and prove me wrong!
Are you guys for real or just #$$%%%ing with me? what's then purpose then if you can't control that power even with 11 inch rims.
I've got 19x13 inch rims with 345 PS2's and Z06 panels......no traction in 1st, 2nd, and the first half of third. I'm more excited than anyone about the 19" Drag Radial that we're supposed to see in the middle of '08. When that comes out, it's "go time"

Not flaming, just pointing out a possible misunderstanding in your question. You can control the power, you use the pedal under your right foot. What you can't do is indiscriminately mash that pedal. You need to employ that wonderful control mechanism between your ears to modulate your right foot. If you know how to use the throttle intellegently, there is no such thing as too much power.
Watch this video and try not to smile. It's the Camaro in my sig (now sold).

Just get some 17x8s (C5 Z fronts)and put some wrinkle wall M/T ET Streets (26x11.50x17s) on there
Use this setup people are in the low tens with this wheel and tire combo and the wrinkle wall will give your drivetrain a break too. Stiff sidewalls (DRs) are hard on drivetrains. Use those when racing and just pimp some regular tires for cruising.
im running 18in Z06 replicas with 295 BFG drag radials all day traction is ok in first and no problem in 2nd i hook alllll day unless its wet out side. street tires with a blown C6 is pointless and dangerous in my opinion plus your going to get the same mileage out of the tires you mind as well get traction while your at it.

I do have drag radials , but for street use I keep the 345 run flats on. I drive the car too far to get stuck with a flat. I will put 6000 miles on it this spring (in 2 weeks) driving across country to Spring Mountain. I'm going to get some 17" rims with MT ET streets for the strip this spring.

Merry Christmas
i got tired of gettin sideways on the street so i gave up on street tires. if anything ill switch to MT streets myself. i have always ran drag radials on my cars and have yet to get a flat.

I've been running a stock 185 runflat and have had the back end step out pretty seriously on a 2nd-3rd shift (more than once) even with t/c and active handling on! As mentioned above, throttle modulation is about all you can do to combat traction issues without swapping for stickyer tires.
My rear runflats are about shot and I'm hoping for a seriously sticky
19" tire to come on the market soon or I'm gonna have to purchase
18" rims for rear.

Be safe have a good christmas!
For use on the street consider a MT ET street RADIAL, it is a lot more forgiving on the street than the ET street...it also hooks a lot better than the BFG drag radials.
You will get about half the life out of them though compared to the BFG...but my god do they hook up.
I only had 255s on my firebird and was cutting 1.5s
