[QUOTE=PowerLabs;1567036787]Allright, found the oil leak: It was coming from the engine block oil feed to the supercharger; the block adaptor was super tight but the line itself wasn't. Fixed that and now it is perfect.
Installed Boost-A-Pump. It was very easy and I did a superb job.

All good to go, tuning at Cartek in exactly 2 hours.

Wish me luck

it will be all worth it good luck on the #'s:

Default And here is how it turned out...

So I drove the car to Cartek (after instaling the BAP in the rain), we strapped it on the dyno, and a tech at Cartek swapped my injectors (they normally swap them on the dyno as the car will not start with bigger injectors before being retuned).
As soon as the tune began it was clear there was something wrong: the car was running on 7 cylinders. It turns out there were seven 54lbs/hr injectors in the engine, and one stock injector. We double checked the injectors removed from the engne (all stock), removed all injectors from the engine and counted 9 stock injectors, 7 #54 injectors. I checked this personally by looking at the part numbers.
Put the stock injectors back and drove the car home... That was at 11PM. A big thanks to Cartek for trying so late.

I gave Andy a call and he said there was "No F ing way I sent you a stock injector". He also said that this wasn't surprizing coming from me because I called him a bunch of times during my install. When I said I hadn't installed them he said Cartek screwed up somehow? Not really what I was hoping to hear. I'm sorry if I've tested your patience Andy, for the record I am really thankful for all the help you've given me and couldn't have done without it. But there is definitely something up with these injectors.
Well, I've got the stock injectors back on my car, and it runs fine. The ones that came with the kit are pictured below:

The top right injector has a blue band around the base like the 8 stock injectors on my car. That is certainly a stock injector. I know my car doesn't have an extra 54 in it now because I am driving it on a stock tune
Maybe something got mixed up at Cartek? I don't see how since the install was done on the dyno where there were no other parts or tools, and they would have to not only lose a 54lbs injector, but also find another stock injector to take its place.

Well, Andy said he'll overnight me another injector tomorrow. I made another tuning appointment at Cartek for Friday, so hopefully I'll have some numbers by then.

What an adventure.

Hang in there my friend, I gave myself a good one. I looked at the august calender, thought oH my tune day is monday the 11th. Too bad the Sept
calender says thursday the 11th. Least you'll still beat me to the numbers.
You just have the law that says seems to say "what ever can go wrong will". From mother nature to bad luck of the draw Got to suck all the funny turns for you!

I just called the VOODOO soceity and they canceled your badluck ! When 525 hp comes up and then the fun in driving it when everything is right. Andy's on our team , he works hard to perfect his kits.
Gonna be worth it. All good soon!

Very unusual. Someone made a mistake. But no ones perfect! Andy probably blames it on Cartech and Cartech blames it on Andy.

That means they equal each other out and it's PowerLabs fault!!!

Andy is sending me a new one, and Cartek is only charging me for the price of one tune, so I'm going to chalk this up to experience and check all parts more carefully next time I get something like this.

Now, for your viewing pleasure... More pics from the install!

We are not blaming anyone, but to clear the air, Sam purchased the injectors directly from Andy. We are only doing the tune.

Assembling the blower bracket:

Reconnecting the power steering lines. That nut needs to be tightened. Somehow. It was a bitch!

Here is how we did it; a wrench on a breaker bar. It took a good 10 minutes turning it 1/8th of a turn at a time.

Wrestling the blower into place. The radiator is pulled back as far as possible with Zip Ties. You have to squeeze a hose past a bunch of hard lines, get the oil return line in the right place AND begin routing the belt. This was tough! I hope that belt never breaks!

Notching the radiator: This is NOT a job for a Dremel tool, specially a battery powered one. The battery ran down multiple times. An air grinder would have been a much better option.

The highlight of A&A's kit is their Intercooler. This is the nicest unit I have ever seen. Way to go Andy!

I'm looking at the fender well with the BOV assembling and thinking: This goes WHERE?

The BOV goes here: I am getting some clunking from that area though, so it will have to be zip tied.

Head unit in place:

The intercooler seal was not perfect in this install. It will need a small amount of garage door sealer: It is only 1/4" off so this is non critical.

And so it was done. I started it up and drove it home.

Now its time to install the Kenne Bell Boost-A-Pump. Of course, it had to rain. I got a tent:

Working in the rain:

But still doing excellent work! Everything I do is double checked, bolted on and taped. I normally solder all electrical connections, but since I had no power here I used a crimp on butt-connector that has heat shrink built into it. It makes a perfect water tight connection. Then I tape everything.

Ready to go:

The radiator cover is VERY important! Without it I was seeing temperatures as high as 217F for the oil whilst in 6th gear at 65mph. Putting it on dropped oil temps down by 17degrees.

The money shot:

And that's it! I will answer any install questions here, but assuming all goes well Friday I will begin a new thread for the tune.

Wow, you're bringing to mind some bitter sweat memories of myself in my garage. But man, I had it cake compared to you...installing the BAP out in the rain! I feel for you brother! At the same time, I think you're crazy!

I bought this car in Tampa, FL. I drove it to LA where I was living, did headers/intake/thermostat there, had Charlie tune it, then I moved to NJ, drove the car here. Its been back and forth through the entire country twice (I did the trip 3 times; my first time was Talahasse - New York - LA via Chicago in my 2003 C5 Z06). I drove it through the Vail pass in Colorado in snow, I drove it through the state of Ohio 5 times in torrential downpours that had other cars pulling off the road and I put 27,000 miles in just under 5 months. I drive it a LOT

Default nice write up

What a job! I guess I had it easy, I had a DRY garage and electricity.
Things we take for granted, never thought of running the BOV up like that. Too bad you had to deal with the unexpected, but stuff happens.
When you get it all going it's great. Can't believe how much difference
it makes, plus mines real quiet until you give it some gas then it sounds like a jet plane.

nice work on the install. I have a feeling you'll be saving up for a forged short block, after market heads and a smaller pulley soon... hahaha
