Has anyone built up any of the Six Speed Auto's yet??? I've got a 99' vette running 9.5's on the fully tweaked 4L60E, and of course we are shooting for the low 9's. I have heard that the 4L70's have the possibilities of holding more HP.
Ive heard they are building them to and seen it mentioned, but not real specs on it yet. Anybody wanna help out with that, or point me in the right direction?
Quick question did RPM or someone else come up with a stronger 1st gear planetary gear set? Its my understanding that bearing are too weak and self destruct do to high axial forces in helical gearing when highly loaded (torque load).
Oh and with respect to A&A C6, I'd suspect torque is the 600 region and that's what kills trans not HP (within reason).
Thanks,
Mike

Thanks for the input. I did call RPM yesterday, and I spoke with TJ (I think??). He said the jury is out on the A6 as far as power is concerned. He doesn't think it will hold as much as the 4L60E, but there aren't any trick parts available yet. My 99' is making 1,246 HP (here in Denver (at 6,500+ altitude), and laying down 1,041 to the ground. You can check out a 9.570 at 144 MPH run if you go the Streetfire and type in Pinks All Out Denver. I guess I'll have to freshen the 4L60E for the 2009 Race Season.
Arent the 6L80Es different from the ones in the car to the truck/suv crowd? Thought I read it on a couple sites.
The 6L80s are all the same. What you're thinking about is the 6L90s in the 2500/3500. They're the same as the 6L80 except with some wider gears (that makes the 6L90 35mm longer) and a few other things I can't remember off the top of my head.
