Just placed an order, going to give it a try for those bumper to bumper 100+ days and why not cool down the temps in the summer track days, what do you guys think about this mod

I don't get it... Corvettes come fitted with a thermostat that turns the fans on as soon as the car reaches whatever temperature you set it for, without you having to remember to flip a switch. Also, the C6s fans are variable speed drive motors, not on/off switches like old radiator fan designs... Seems to me like this is a step backwards?

I agree,
If you set the fans to come ON at a LOWER TEMP you'll never need this switch!...........I think???
The fans would already be on in a 100+ day.......... Wouldn't they???
Just do it in the tune.....................Correct???
Damn, I second guess myself alot

sounds good to me, i didnt put much thought into it
As an everyday use I can understand powerlabs and C6 rollers points. There's just no need. However I do think it would come in handy at the 1/4 mile track when you maybe waiting in line or on the dyno where you don't get any air movement.

Right, but if you don't get any air movement the engine warms up, and then the thermostat kicks the fan in... Automatically... In fact after my last tune the fan "on" temperature has been set at such a low value that pretty much any time I am stopped, I can hear it running in the background... Trying to do this with a switch is just asking for trouble the day you forget to flip it on.

OR the day you forget to flip it off.
A passage from the company themselves...Remember, manual control of the fan will make it run without the key in the ignition so be aware that you might kill your battery if left on for long periods of time.

I have a problem somewhere in the line from the ECU to the fan pulse box. I replaced the fan pulse box, and that did not work. So, my fans do not come on. I purchased the Manual Fan Switch from Southern Car Parts and love it! I use to have one on my Camaro, so I pretty much have the hang of it. I put the fan on low, when the car gets up to 185-190 and the temps go down to 175-180. In heavy traffic, I may put it on high if it gets too warm for my liking, but low usually takes care of everything. When I took the car to the track, I just let the car run with the fans on high and she stayed at 180 with no problems. The line was moving pretty good, so I didn't want to keep turning the car on and off.

very good points my understanding it's a great track mod while the car is just sitting on standby you can easly cool it down much faster and when you ready for your next run just switch it back to normal and the ecu will control it the normal way , there's 3 modes low speed, high speed and normal mode
