300 shot????? i run a 100 shot and run 9.64 with a 300 shot

I bet he runs 10.40's to 10.50's. That's what I ran without Nitrous and he and I have very similar setups (when I had my Nitrous car)

It would seem you could just go from a 100 shot to a 300 shot and go a lot faster - but that certainly isn't the case. It's all about the way the power is applied.

I thought that you might run into to problems with Nitrous with a SC? I was thinking about doing this but wa told that was not a good idea on a blown car?

It is a GREAT idea because the expanding nitrous acts as an increibly efficient form of charge cooling and nets even more power.
But very few tuners are willing to tune for it... Supposedly because it is a "tuning nightmare"..

Thats what I thought to. Would nitrous (100 shot) with a meth kit on SC be a good idea? Especially since i live in South FL.

Thanks

This is a VERY hard question to answer.

Meth in a SC application is always a good idea. However, adding Nitrous into the equation is VERY tricky if you have a stock bottom end (and stock compression).

If you have an EXPERT tuner that is comfortable installing and tuning the Nitrous while on boost and Meth, then you should be fine with a 50-100 shot -AGAIN, if your tuner knows what he/she's doing. There are a LOT of tricks to tuning this to make your engine live.

I planned on changing out the pistons, leaving the rods and crank stock (save a few $) doing a SC and headers, exhaust, cam, clutch,a meth kit and 100 shot for the strip. Do you think the stock rods/crank can take the boost from the SC plus the 100 shot, or do you think i should go with the callies rods and crank? Im looking for about a streetable car first w/650rwhp/650rwhp with just the boost and 100 shot for the drag strip only, or if i happen to run into a enzo or buggati I looking to get into the 9's in the quarter, I fiqured the juice would do the trick.

Ed when are you planning to come back to West Palm? I Still owe you dinner

Hey bud,

I don't know when I'm going to get back down. SO many things have changed in my life in the last few months! When I do make it back down, I'll be sure to give you a shout!

If you are changing the pistons, then go ahead and upgrade the rods! The stock crank has been proven to 1,500 HP.... It's a good forged peiece! (but will need a lot of weight added to offset the forged rods/slugs- so find a good machine shop).

I think you can get away with the spray on the stock bottom-end on top of boost with a good tune and a modicum of luck. Heck, Mr. Big (on this forum) has been doing it for a while.

Let us know how it all goes!
