Nope, I drive a 06 Silverado daily. I only wish I could drive my vette on the daily. They don't do so good on construction sites, etc. Plus it's harder to get sympathy sales driving a macked out C6....

So now the Tech 2 flashed the PCM, but they don't have the software to get the FOB to recognize the new program. So I'll have to wait until Monday so they can call GM for the software.

I know, I know, be patient...

I really don't know enough about these things to be able to smell out a non-qualified technician, but it would seem as if this is the first time that this has happened to them, which doesn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling about this whole thing....

I really should just have faith, and wait till it's finished before I say anything though....

Say a prayer for my Vette tonight before going to sleep please!

BTW, what happens if they blow my car up, are they responsible for my engine while it's in their care?

This is the last conversation I had with Bode at BSM. Please let me say that I take back EVERYTHING that I said with respect to doubting his ability, this PCM thing is the fault of the last guy to handle it, not his.

Keith,
As I said when we spoke I'm pretty sure it's HP Tuners Tunerlock, that's what it appears to be to me. The LS2 edit won't read it either as well as my HP tuners. The FOBS actually work fine now, but Still won't enable the download.
No computers on the island at this time, Shaun will be checking stateside for the fastest way to get one here after talking to LPE. Maybe I can get LPE to swap the ECU for a stock one.
I will keep you apprised
I will keep your baby safe....
Cya,
Bode

So the car is finally ready (almost).....

It took a while to get the new ECM, and have it done & such, but I will be picking the car up today, and bringing her home....

It dyno'd last night a 650 whp, but I had BSM tune it down to a measly 605. It still had room to grow after the 650 run, but I did not want that much HP, or more. So the power tune is finished, and now they are doing the idle learn thing & such.

As soon as I have time, I'll scan the dyno sheets and post them up along with some pics of the engine bay...

Thanks to all of you for your support, now let's find me a new rear end before this one blows up!!!

PEACE!

Keith

Man, where are you going to take car to run it with that power? Before you know it, you're facing water...

Bringing the tune back down to 605 was a compromise. I wanted a bit less than 600, maybe 550 or so, but it was already at 455 before the blower went in. I'm not sure where I can run all that power, but I'll figure it out.

As far as traction, I've yet to drive it, so I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I'm running 345 PS2's now, and I might have to stay with those until I can find a built rear. I don't want to nade my rear by putting sticky tires on it so I guess I'll just deal with it for now.

I'll be looking harder into a new rear, and clutch. BSM didn't have any problems with it (the clutch), but I'm sure it's just a matter of time before the rear & the clutch goes.

I've been looking for a C5 Z06 modified rear "ala Spin's" set-up, but it's difficult finding the right people to deal with, so far away from the mainland. I'm thinking of a RPM, or DTE built rear, but DAM they are expensive!

A complete High Performance rear is going to run me another 5k shipped, but if I can find something more reasonably priced, that would be grand. I just cut a HUGE check to uncle sam (that bastard!), and spent a bundle on my car & kids tuition for next year so spending another 6-7 k for a rear & clutch is not gonna go over well with the little wife!

Anyone have a hook-up on some good parts?

I'd hate to have to find another one like this:

650? Damn! I wish I had that problem, of having to "tune down" to 605

Congrats and please keep us posted For what its worth, my clutch lasted 45K miles, 10K of them on boost, and was still perfectly fine when I brought the car in for an "upgrade". Its now been 9 days and I don't have my car back due to various issues, so think long and hard about that clutch upgrade before you do it... "If i ain't broke... Why try and fix it"...

Bode said he could have gotten 700, but that would be pushing it.

Sorry to hear that clutch is giving you problems....

Spying Beast,
Bode if the referral you got from me, right? Let me know how it turns out because my local friend that recommended Bode is interested in a Z06 built to the hilt. You may have a new friend to "play" with soon.

I was referred to BSM from your friend at the shop right down the street from them.

Bode actually does quite a few high HP installs. They do a ton of Camaros, and other Chevy LS builds. In fact, they just pumped out a 1000 whp TT. It was a BEAST!!

Thanks for the referral San!
