I just got back from a 5hr hike to ecs and dropped off my 05 vert (LS2) to be hooked up with an ecs kit i purchased used from another forum mmember.
I have two ?'s
#1.I wanted 550rwhp not to much to ask considering i have long tube headers highflow cats and bb bullets. But I was told that I would have to run 9-10lbs OF BOOST??? Isnt that a little high and only be used on a forged motor I heard 6,7,maybee max 8lbs is pushing it on a stock motor. I just dont want to blow my motor and thought 6lbs yeilds aprox 600 crank hp on a bone stock LS2 c6? If 9-10 lbs is alright then i have no problem running it just need you guys to give me your opinion.
#2 I had a 5000$ buget for the project and spent 3600 on the used blower kit off an 08 LS3 (ecs is trading the LS2 parts that i need for the LS3 parts i gave them injectors and 1 polished ducting tube for free) I was told the entire kit 2 instal was 1500 with tune and got down the and was told the new price of 2000. I just drove 3.5 hrs and didnt feel like driving back home with the car i came down in so i bit me tonge and said whatever. ( Only because I am on a buget of 5000 and could have drove 10min from my house and got it installed for 2000. I figured i would save 500$ and drive to ecs.)
You have nothing to worry about, 10 lbs of boost is still very conservative, definitely NOT too much! Just get a good tune. I see plenty of forum member post 10 -11 at redline and they don't seem too worried about it.
The LS2 block is very strong.... you should be able to run up to 10 lbs of boost easily without any problems as long as it is tuned right, and if you want some insurance, just buy a meth kit from ECS.

Reason: realized I initially entered the wrong numbers..

Well I would not say you are giving them to us for free as we are replacing them with new injectors and a new LS2 intake duct in exchange for the used ones you gave us with the kit..
On the price you were quoted at $1,500 for an install. Thats the normal price here for install only plus the cost of a tune. I told you we would give you a $100 discount and the tune would be $500 for a total price of $2,000. I think thats more than fair considering we need to go through the kit and make sure all the parts are there.
The whole time you were here you seemed very unsure of us working on your car. You requested that we try and get you in the 550 range and I said that was not an issue and we will be running in the 9 pound range.
Let me know if you would like us to procede with the install as planned.
how much rwhp r u makin
what size blower,
I have novi1500
Dutch - I have a Novi - 1500 on a stock C6 just like you, but minus the full exhaust system, and I am very happy with the job done by my speed shop.
I am not located anywhere near NJ and my install was not done by ECS, so you can trust that I am being honest here.
I am running 10 lbs of boost and putting down just about the 500 mark and would be higher if I had full exhaust. The timing on my car is set on conservative as well with timing pulled out under high temp conditions.
My point, trust your tuner....If you tell them you want to make 550 with your set up safely, and they said they can promise that, then stop worrying.
I'm running 10 lbs because that is what it takes to for my bone stock car to hit the 500 rwhp mark and I am not worried about one bit!!

thanx guys for the input on boost and saftey numbers of running it.
I am leaving for Cancun tommarow so i will have to make my choice 2day on my setup. Im either going 10-13lbs w/o meth setup or 10lbs with meth setup or blowewr cam.
any sugestions???
thanks guys ,
Dutch
Dude the blower cam is a great idea... just do 10 lbs of boost with the blower cam and NO meth..that should make you plenty of power for sure!!!! You don't need to run meth with 10 lbs at redline.
I'm not sure why people get so spooked out about 10 lbs... as long as the tune pulls out timing at high inlet temps, you will be just fine.
going with #12 boost and a meth kit
chris @ ecs recomended it and stated i should have 600-625 wrhp
Do those numbers sound correct with my slight mods already (headers high flow cats and bb bullets)
Will the car sound any louder with the sc and meth kit???

600 rwhp is damn nice... the supercharger will pull in more air, so more air means more noise, but good noise, not super loud, just good loud
I do have to say that I enjoy my Paxton much more than my procharger...the procharger was so loud that people either thought something was wrong with the car, or new what it was a mile away.
