However, ProCharger does have a helical gear set for "noise reduction" that they released this year.
interesting, thank you.

I'm well aware they are the same a company, and that the novi 2000 does not have a vortech counterpart. It is without a doubt much louder than my v3 t-trim especially at idle.
My ECS kit is VERY quiet Dennis. That is one of the main reasons I bought.
Thanks for the heads up Jeff...couldn't remember what kit you ended up with. Still on the fence about this whole FI deal. Talked with Chris E. about it last night for awhile. Looks like ProCharger's head unit (D1) with it's stepped ratio of 4:1, more cfms (400) than the equivalent head unit from either company and now having the helical cut gears...that may be the ticket if I do go FI.
If it's just as quiet as the Novi or equivalent Vortech (I Know same manufacture) but more efficient than either, why wouldn't I go back to another ProCharger...they are great head units.
With the information you provided in your thread, I thought I would reply and let you know my findings. It took me a while with weeks of research on this. I heard all 3 setups (procharger, vortech, paxton). In IMHO if your looking to make 650-670ish rwhp, they all will do it. Your boost levels at that power will be in the 6-7 psi on all 3 head units but paxton is so much more quite then the others its like you don't even have a blower. Efficiency is not really going to play much of a roll if your at a low boost (safety level) using your stock shortblock. I added my restrictor plate in and my car makes mid 600's and the tq is about the same. Plenty of hp's for the street and for tire smoking...
Let me know and we can meet up on a weekend for some cruising and at that time, you can have a see/hear for yourself amigo..
Not exactly the question you asked but if it were my own car I think I would do a mild heads/cam/exhaust setup over forced induction on the stock engine.
Not that you can't do a mild FI system reliably on the stock engine but you have experienced a 1000rwhp car so I'm thinking that you may not be satisfied with a SC or TT at low boost.

Funny you mention that Jim as thats exactly what I told Chris last night. A very good running N/A is impressive, dependable and virtually maintance free.
My '07 was a very impressive car for a cam only. Can only imagine heads/cam/FAST intake/exhaust/tune...It's def another option I'm still considering. Thanks Jim...
Thanks Jeff I'll have to take you up on that offer...the biggest reason I was wanting a TT set up (now possibly leaning toward another FI direction) was the awesome performance with stock like drivability, damn good fuel economy when driving normal, without the cam surge/tuning issues and ****ty fuel economy you can't avoid when trying to make big power N/A. I'm really having to weigh the pros and cons of each set up, including what Jim suggested...a well put together N/A Z06 is a VERY fun, very fast car that can hold it's own up to some pretty high, triple digits.

I can't disagree though, I do love the APS setup on my car, just couldn't imagine it stuck at base boost which is why I recommend engine/driveline upgrades at the same time
Alright Tiago your suppose to be on the "other" forums...
Still on the fence with this FI stuff...looking at all my options very closely. Don't want to F up a nice ride...
I have had both.. the s/c is nice and a great deal dollar for dollar.. but you can not beat the power under ther curver with turbos hot or cold they are very potent and feel like N20 ..but price is alot more.
