Default HELP...Choosing

I am new here and I know this question has probably been asked before...

Things I want:

550-600hp.....
A SC that whistle "not quite"
Is it worth doing intake, headers..etc??????

Fuel system?

COmputer?

Radiator?

WHat do I need to do?

Look for?

Ant help would be appreciated...

anything to help your motor flow more air will help, so yes heads, cam, headers will let you make more power and lower the boost levels with a FI application.

A SC that whistle "not quite"
dont really get what your saying there

On the whistle...I mean I want to hear it ....

I loved the way my turbo bike sounded and heard a procharger and it sounded good.

What the best all=around kit?

Procharger?
Vortech?
Novi?
Whipple?

Procharger is by far the loudest of the blowers

I dont think Whipple makes a kit for the Vette

Yes they do. Dragon Race uses the 3.3L Positive displacement Whipple, very sweet whine.

Check out A&A and ECS and go from there. Both kits are complete and will get you to the power you want.

You can call them and ask all the questions and they will guide you in the right direction.

I was thinking a direct factory kit. However it seems Whipple has introduced that as well.

The "direct factory kits" aren't tailored nearly as well to our individual setups, come with less tech support, fewer options, and are much more expensive. Spend some time searching this section, and you'll begin to get a feel for why the semi custom kits from places like A&A and ECS are so prominent and well regarded.

In the 550 to 600 hp range, you owe yourself a serious look at the TVS2300. If a few more bucks is an issue, don't read any further. If adding a new hood isn't a deal breaker, you can have the best available in that HP range you're wanting.

To the centri minions that think having power in an RPM range that's actualy usable on the street is horrible, you either don't have a clue or have ulterior motives. The "heat soaker" arguement is a joke. On the street, it doesn't have time to heat soak. How long can you stay in it before you kill yourself or someone else? The "it's a good truck blower" is even worse. Here's a news flash for you......if it helps move a 5K lb truck around easily, just imagine how well it will motivate a 3200 lb vette. The "it dies in the upper rpm range" is bunk too. The TVS will pull hard as long as you're inclined to keep your foot in it. I think I'm done....

Oh wait, just a quick disclaimer.......I have no interest in what the OP buys. Just thought he'd like to have a little unbiased info with which to make his decision. Regardless of which way he goes, he'll have a fine ride. He just won't have to wait for more rpm for the "fineness" to kick in if he chooses the TVS or other PD blower. That's not a regurgitation of internet drivel. It's just a fact.

I have no interest in what any body buys either, and I don,t have an opinion as to which is better, but thats far from unbiased info the way I read it.

Feel free to give us a call if you would like to discuss options, you have to take some of the advice on here with a grain of salt, some clearly do not have a ton of experience with what they write.

I've heard good things about Speed Inc. in Schaumburg. My friend had his Mustang tuned there and claims they're the best tuner in IL. I went to LPE in Decatur, IN for my work. They're only about 200-225 miles away from Chicago.
