Default LT's vs. Boost Loss

I have a all stock motor 2007 Z51 A6 car with a A@A SC kit (V2 SI Trim)
making 8.5-9 lbs with a 4.0 sc pulley and meth. I am wanting to put long tube headers with high flow cats and leave the factory mufflers for now, how much boost will I loose, will a 3.8 pulley get me back to the same boost lbs? Will a 3.6 be way too much for a stock bottom end? I am wanting a "safe" 560-590 whp
Thanks in advance.

I have the T Trim A&A kit, 07 A6 with LTs. I'm at 8.5lb on the 3.8" 8-rib pulley. I'm going to pulley down to 3.47" and get meth in a couple months.

how much power are you making now?

Do a retune after the headers install, the car should be able to pick up more timing due to the less restrictive exhaust AND due to less boost, could end up with a decent gain and not want to pulley down.

I might be interested in your 3.8 if I haven't bought one by then.

Did you do that new A&A inlet "dongle"?? Seems to be a good mod.

im thinking, do that and the headers and a retune. Maybe this time not a REALLY safe one, but a safe one.

I dont beleive there is such thing as a safe and unsafe tune, tune for ~11.3- 11.8 AFR, and give it ENOUGH timing until it knocks and then back off a little, some tuners just seem to have a certain "number" in their minds, like "for this combo id run 17degrees" well on my previous SC Z06, it was a stock motor 11:1 CR and 5psi of boost, catless headers - so in real it was pulleyed for 6.5psi but was seeing 5 only. I was running 22degrees of timing on the very top, and the car NEVER EVER had a problem.

do those two mods + a retune.

Not sure what the new dongle is (I'll have to figure it out), I have only had the car a little over a month, I have barely driven it. But my 775 whp Mustang makes it feel a little slow.

LT's are great, and will only make your setup more efficient, and will add power... however, you could also just change to a smaller pulley and add more boost to get to your goal... just a thought to save you money for now, but LT's are a must at some point in the quest for more power for sure...

I don't mind spending a little money, the stock exhaust is just too quiet for me, and I like the power also. I want to run around 10lbs for now on the stock motor.

call Andy himself and ask him about it, and about the power gains from it.

its just the small peice that connects the blower inlet to the filter, and he has a revised one released about two months ago, I dont know if youre car has it but I doubt it does.

Again, this + headers and a retune might get you closer to you're goals without having to pulley down.

Do you have the 8-rib setup? Stock is 6-rib. I'd be more than happy to sell mine off to you if you've got the 8-rib and need the 3.8" pulley (probably in February or March).

I want to pulley it down, these kits come with a 3.8 and mine has a 4.0 so I want to at least get back to what it had on it, and since I will have to retune it I was going to put on the headers as well. Just wondering what pulley to go with. Maybe I do need to talk to Andy, I just figured my set up has been done a lot.
I appreciate all the advice

again, if thats what you want, all those mods are cheap except for the headers.

Do ask him about the dongle.

get the 3.8, and the catted headers, and a retune you SHOULD reach ur goals.

my vote would be methanol injection, pulley, retune... and add headers of course, if the money is there after the first three...

It has a AIS meth system already.

I live in Oklahoma so I was going to have Dallas Performance tune the car after all the changes. I got a HP Tuner with the car but have not had time to play with it yet.
