Default Supercharging Experiences

I am seriously considering going the FI route. I have a 2007 C6 with 18,000 miles and I really enjoy it but I would like to move up to a higher level of performance. I don't intend to drag or track it. I enjoy driving the car and it is my daily driver in the nice weather.

I have heard only good things about ECS. Their ECS/Paxton SC600 package and installation seem reasonable and they are only about 80 miles away from me. I would like to hear from people who have gone FI and about their experiences. My main concerns are about reliability and ease of maintenance. I don't want to end up ruining my enjoyment of the car because of problems or constant adjustments caused by the FI. I wonder if it is possible to have a trouble free FI system that won't cause undo stress and premature failure of various parts of the car.

Any information that people who have FI can share would be helpful. I would also be interested in knowing how many miles you have on your vette since you went FI.

Had my 2006 A6 CPE done in Aug 2007. at 18000 miles also by EPP in Indiana. Procharger is self contained and the only hassle chaning the oil every 6k. I have 34600 on the car trouble free. Doug at ECS has and outstanding product and great HP. You can not go wrong and highly recommend.

FI can be totally reliable so long as you don't push the envelope.
A standard system should give you years of trouble free service.

Like others have said, our std FI install is a "set it and forget it" situation. Thanks for considering us for your supercharging needs, if you have any questions, feel free to call us at any time.

Thanks!

Doug

I have had the ECS kit for about 2 years now without any problems aside from the HP being so addicting.

Located that close to their shop should make it a very easy decision.

My ProCharger has been on for almost 5 years with only a injector problem in that time. It is impossible to beat the pure adrenaline rush!

Default since you asked

I normally dont share this info because I dont want every vette I meet to be supercharged but: I was asking the same question before I SC'ed mine. I love it to death, have no issues, has been 2500 miles and 6 months. The car drives the same when you want and blows you away when you choose. I live in the middle of nowhere and maintenance and reliability were my highest concerns (i still worry about belt issues if they were to arise) but am loving every second behind the wheel. feel free to pm me if you like for more questions. Lots of info on searches for this topic.

You can't beat the A&A kit for reliability, power, and price. You might have to get used to buying tires alot though.

I'm a big time car enthusiast and have been reading up on this board for a while learning more about the C5 and C6, I've always been a Vette fan. What's so great to see is how the vendors work with one another rather then make it a us vs. them as I've saw being a member and enthusiast of other car boards and makes and models. From what I've read, seen, and heard, you can't go wrong with any of the SC Kits offered, especially the ECS Paxton, A&A Vortech or Procharged based setups.

I see and read about setups on multiple cars(Single Turbo Supras, M3s, AMGs, P-cars, I'm an enthusiast for all) throughout many many years and if there is one thing I already know is that a SC vette once running safe boost, AFRs, and aqequate cooling is perhaps one of the best daily driveable but yet more than adequate power setup.

IMHO if ECS is that close near you, you are quite lucky. Get that SL1500, add some headers and some meth and enjoy 600rwhp reliably all day everyday and a beast to boot. Also helps big time that a centrifugal SC once out of boost gives near or perhaps stock mileage for daily driving purposes, having your cake and eating it too is awesome but the HP does rule #1.

ECS all the way! No issues. Lots of power. Tons of FUN!!
Just added Z06 rear widebody + M/T 345-35-18's on stock 18" rims widened to 12" - weldcraft. Cant wait til the spring to hook up!

You guys adding massive F.I. power should not overlook the traction.

I have a procharger on my 05 C6 with 18000 "procharged' miles on it with no issues. I also own a 04 silverado that has a mp 112 maganacharger on it and I have put 107000 miles on it with no problems at all. If you have the correct tune they are trouble free.

I'm having this same debate with myself. I just bought my 07' in July and I am already trying to decide if I want to supercharge it for pure speed or get a used Z06 for a nicer all around car. I've had a really bad experience adding boost to a stock car (turned into a money pit, almost makes me afraid to mod anything else).

Any reputable/affordable shops in SE MI?

Sorry for the hijack. Good luck with your decision.

I added a DIY A&A kit that came in a big box from UPS!
Over 17k trouble free miles now that same kit is moving over to a
Z-06. No money pit at all! Just faster than snot!
