Does he have the specs to his cam?

I am spraying a 150 shot and it makes 491hp on motor and 630hp on the gas. I am running a NX kit with a NOS plate system. The plate system pills are rated for flywheel HP, unlike NX's pills are rated for wheel HP.

The system is activated via arming switch and a WOT switch on a MSD window switch.

The cost is going to run you about $1000 for all the parts and $500-$800 for labor + tuning.

I am on a stock fuel system down to the stock pumps. AFR is 11.8:1 and timing is set at 18deg. I ran TR6 @ .032 plugs and it melted a plugs in #4 and #8 on 21deg so I backed off to 18deg. Even so, I didn't like the timing mark on the plug when the nitrous was activated so I switched to a TR7 plug gapped @ .028 and the timing mark looks perfect. This is on pump gas. I do put race fuel in the tank whenever I know I'm going to beat on the car. I'll probably get me a 5gal drum of Torco to drop into every tank full since it's my weekend car.

I do plan on getting a blower and dropping the nitrous, but a nitrous kit has good resell value and works flawlessly as long as you have the right parts, and more importantly, a good installer.

If you are hesitant then go purchase a cheap used kit (I see them on this forum for $300-$400), get a window switch and bottle heater (NANO is useful, but a bottle heater works just as good for me.. I don't plan on running a full mile on the nitrous) and forget the rest of the accessories for now. If you don't like it, sell it! But I know you're gonna like it.

I ran nitrous on my last fbody and ran a direct port nx system. I got extremely tired of filling bottles, getting the right bottle pressure, checking plugs, flowing the fuel system etc etc. I went with a blower and have never been beaten by a nitrous car so far. Raced plenty. Lol
