Default GM Crate LSX LB - Ordered!

FInally pulled the trigger and ordered my GM Crate LSX376 boost engine..forged with 9:0:1 compression, with 450hp\444tq out of the box. Not looking for a 1000rwhp car, just want a safe and reliable 750-800rwhp ride without worrying about the engine blowing up.. not to mention it has a 12m\12K mile warranty on the Long Block.... will have a D1 on it.. somewhere from 13-18psi will be thrown at it.. should be fun to see how the A6 holds up.. pics to come of the crate engine..

Congratulations man! I couldn't live with an iron block in my car after seeing what the weight of the blower did to ride height, but I wholeheartedly agree with why you did it; this should be the most reliable engine you can get for your money.
Please keep us posted

Just make sure you have a "hefty" passenger along for the ride. If you're ever around Houston any time, I want a ride. My 235 lbs will help with the f/r weight distribution

What did that cost? I am already getting plans around on forging my LS3 With a Novi 2200, I'm at 680rwhp with meth on the stock block, I was thinking of just doing forged pistons and better rods, what made you decide to go this way, just curious. Thanks

a D1 will not make that kind of power, hell a F1 will have a difficult time even.

I know that it will, especially at 109octane gas.. My builder has done MANY of them. He dynoed a camaro today, no spray, just a LS3 "416" and a YSI "10rib" @14 psi 930rwhp.. sounded like an insane car too.. loved it, black with carbon fiber everywhere... let me know if you want the youtube he just posted..

14psi and a 416 made 930rwhp??? Any methanol or N2O? Or both? That must be a record... hard to believe, must be something else not mentioned in the setup...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGTysM8-Nm4 it is badass! looks like it is only 915rwhp, sorry about that.. I think it was running c16 or race gas.. Looks like I am geting a new cam with my setup, the new blower cam he has makes serious power

I wanted a safe reliable engine that I know I will not have any troubles with. It comes with a 12K mile warranty or 1yr.. It is very affordable, no assembly cost for a builder, it can be completed in a short time as well. I can also go to a YSI or something down the road and the engine will handle it.. A6 is my weak link so that is why I am not shooting or asking for crazy #'s.. yet...

With this 376ci, compression ratio, and D1.

I highly doubt you will see 750-800whp.

If you run at a higher compression ratio and max boost you may get closer.

A YSI will get there. Good luck on your build!!!

Thanks Badz!

I am curious why you think this? I need some education on this. I am def not some engine super knowledge guy but I would like to learn. I have an engine that starts out with more HP than a stock LS3 "450 vs 430" even with the lower compression and if max the D1 out... unlike guys here that have over 700rwhp with d1's.. or maybe you get less hp per lb of boost with lower compression "which I have zero clue".. we shall see, believe me when I say, I will keep you posted!

at 750-800hp you could just do forged rods / pistons on your LS2.
