Default E-Force & Tune

I'm not sure where this thread belongs FI or Tune. I'll try it here.

The E-Force comes with a programmer to modify the tune in your ECM. My question is:

Is this a "custom operating system" and as such will block me from using my EFILive to tweak the tuning?

For example, I have CAGS looking for a temperature of 350 degrees before the dash light will ever come on. Also known as !CAGS. I want to retain this feature and I doubt very seriously if CAGS has been edited in the E-Force tune so I would need to go in and reset the temp to 350 to keep !CAGS.

So, is it a custom OS or is it a normally formatted tune that can be edited by EFILIve or HPTuners? Since I haven't heard any screaming in the tuning section, I'm leaning away from the custom OS and toward a tune that can be tweaked.

The calibration on the Edelbrock handheld tuner just appends tables and values in the factory operating system. It does not replace it. Fully readable and manipulated via either HP Tuners or EFILive. It won't affect your CAGS setting.

If they don't mess with CAGS, then my 350 degrees stays firm and I have !CAGS

Thanks,

Elmer
