Default nitromethane through a meth kit?

Has anyone ever ran nitro through a meth kit. You could even use the 33% nitro used on RC cars. Just watching the US nationals and it reminded me of when we put nitro in our mopeds. That was a blast for about 10 minutes.

RC car fuel is 20-25% oil, so it'd make a mess out of your engine. Pure nitro would work but it's not really worth the cost, IMO.

I have done it with the rc car fuel. I calculated the percentage of nitro to be about 7% after I diluted it down. The car picked up 85rwhp. I ran it that way for almost a year. Never had any problems. I did also pull 2 degrees timing and retune the fuel map.

AH DAMMIT! And I JUST made the switch over to all electric R/C setups.

Don't give me any more bright ideas.

You injected a mixture of oil (all RC car fuel contains oil), methanol and some nitromethane in your engine, removed 2 degrees of timing, and gained 85rwhp?

Nitromethane burns much slower than alcohol or gasoline, and the 25% oil content of the fuel will most certainly offset any gain in octane you migh have had (sample calculation: if the fuel was 25% oil (octane rating = 15) and 75% pure methanol (octane rating = 75), your overall octane rating would be 93 ((15*25 + 119*75)/100). Nitro's octane equivalent is lower than Methanol, so realistically RC model fuel probably has an octane rating in the 80s, which is what you would expect for an engine that runs glow plug ignition. I find this story really hard to believe. If you DID gain power, it wasn't because of the RC fuel injection, it was despite of it, and you could've gained more from just pure meth or Methanol / Water injection.

Real nitromethane injection would require adding a lot of timing since the fuel burns much slower. There IS power to be gained there then, if no oil is present, but Nitro is expensive and corrosive and would not work much better than Methanol to justify the hassle...

The car picked up 85 hp with the rc/meth mix from injecting nothing at all. It picked up 45 hp with straight meth.
