Default problems scraping after d1 install

i just installed a d1 on my 06 z51 and the car is scraping on everything. i have destroyed the lower valance already. i dont know if this is a common thing or not with the weight of the supercharger kit. i bought the car used and i think it might have been pulled down in the front but not sure. if anybody could help me out with some info on this i would appreciate it thanks steven

Trim the middle section 1/2 - 3/4" and then taper the two outside pieces. Common problem.

I'm not sure on the specifics of your kit, but I scrap EVERYTHING with my ECS/Paxton setup. My guess is it's because the radiator cradle has been lowered and pushed slightly forward. I'll go out and take a couple pics of my "ground clearance."
Oh well, it's worth it!

The cradle gets lowered slightly but moreover the extra weight on the nose lowers the front even more. Raise the front back up. Easy peasy.

Precisely. I made the same post 2 days after my supercharger install. The front lowers itself from the weight and you lose about 3/4" off the cradle to ground clearance since it is lowered to fit the intercooler. I raised my front back up on the stock bolts and now it is not so bad.

I also HIGHLY recomment those little wheels (A&A sells them) that bolt on your cradle so it rolls over things instead of scraping them. Never going to have a 'Vette without them again!

I had the same problem, just raise your front suspension up a 1/4 inch or so, just to compensate for the extra weight of the supercharger.

The extra scrapping is more so from lowering the cradle a bit, and moving the air dam a bit forward of the fulcrum point, (the tire) over the weight added IMHO. The shipping weight of the kit is in the 60's, (I do not recall exactly, but I think it's 67lbs) then theres what is removed, my guess is 10-15 lbs? So that adds 52-57lbs. That roughly the same weight as half a tank of gas.

A slight riase of the front spring will take care of that like you suggested.

Stock ride height is to high for me. The added weight put it where it should have been to begin with. I'll stick with the trim method.

I have a procharger on my 05 and I had to trim about a inch off of
mine and it still drags a lot. I ended up taking the two side pieces off because it didn't look right with the middle airdam trimmed. I do not have any cooling issues at all in case that is a concern for you.

When you taper the side pieces it looks continuous.
