Default Tire?

I went to order the Toyo 888s but I was told they will not fit on the GS larger rear wheel . So if some of you with the larger rear wheels could let me know what tire you run to handel the extra power that would be great. Also let me know the size.

Are they drag tires? Do they have a good enough sidewall for auto-x?

The NT05R is an r-compound and the tread appears to favor a drag use (check Nitto's website to make sure). I run the 305/35/18 MT ET Streets (drag radial) on the rear (Spin monster traction solution) and Nitto NT05 in front. As far as r-compound tires go, the NT05R is one of the few offered in 19" size...that's why I and many others dropped down to the 18"x11" wheel for more options.

Will that tire size fit without the widebody? I have 325's and there isn't much room for anything larger... I would guess it will also stick out past the wheel well looking at mine.....

Not without the wide body, no. That size is for the GS and the Z's.

The NT05R is a drag tire. Very soft sidewall. It wouldn't work well for autox.

You have 325s on stock wheels (10X19) and they fit under the rear fenders without sticking out???? Got any pictures... I would love to put some 325s on.

You need wider wheels for 325s. 10" wheels are way out of the recommended widths for those tires.

CCW and a few other companies 19x11 wheels hold 325s under the fenders. I ran this way until I added the widebody.

Once I added the GS widebody, I also dropped down to 18's in the rear for more tire choices and am now running the 335/30 R888s in the rear. They hook better than any non-drag radial (haven't tried the NT05Rs) and work ok if you get caught in the rain. I'm just not a fan of the gap that I now have between the tire and the fender. I think 19s look much better on the car.

Toyo R888 in 18 or 19 size wheel or the Nitto NT 555R II Extreme in a 18 wheel. Both come in 305X 35/30X xx.
