Default speed density and e85...

Can someone chime in with their personal experiences doing either a sd conversion and/or e85 conversion on a boosted car. Assume around 10-15psi on a forged 427. I'm looking to do both in roughly a month and need to get insight on an intank pump as well as injectors. Map sensor comes out of a cobalt ss I believe for pure plug and play on the sd side.

Thanks in advance....

Intank pump may have to be a 3 pump setup from Lonnies or the big daddy Aeromotive drop in unit. You really need to go big on that part.

Injectors are going to be around 120# injectors with large "everything else" lol.

Depends on your power goals and what ECU you have. Depending on year model and platform there are several ways to get the job done.

Like Taylor said, it all depends on the power goal as to what parts you need.. and you can spend some serious coin to do it, but imho It's well worth it... I would contact www.dallasperformance.com they have the most E-85 FI experience around...

I read that the aftermarket drop in Walbro 255 pumps aren't very E85 compatible. What's you opinion on this, Taylor?

We are running with Injector Dynamics extremely linear 1000cc or 2000cc injectors depending on application(both are high impedance so no drivers needed), no problem with a smooth 700rpm idle or to supply enough fuel at full throttel -> http://www.injectordynamics.com/injectors.html

For a clean install we have been using Aeromotives drop-in setup. Here is pics from one of the installs(about two pages down) http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-f...rbo-build.html
The only thing with the Aeromotive setup is that you need a Aeromotive pump speed controller to avoid having it run on full speed all the time.

I switched from 91 octane + meth to E85 + meth, picked up 30 rwhp. I run a stock in tank with a BAP, and TWO 044 bosch pumps. with 80# injectors and 75 psi my DC is about 87% at 913 rwhp SAE. Would I recomend this fuel setup to a customer, probably not. I am looking to switch to the big PRO pump from aeromotive/HOB and some 120-160# injectors so I can keep the FP low and the pump efficient. Only thing you got to worry about is pulsing an injector low enough for idle quality. so probably stick with the 120s. I cant justify the price of the ID injectors, they just really pricey!

Oh yea 2 bar open loop SD tune. Expect fuel milage to drop a little, and the car to run cooler.

Running 2000cc injectors on Mr.Big's car with our big fuel system and the idle is really good. Smells good too
