Default The TTIX 3in downpipe thread...

Hey guys,

I just got off the phone with Rob @ Champion and we were talking about getting the 3in downpipes made for the c5/c6 TTIX cars. He was originally looking at getting these made later on in the year but I have convinced him to consider making a first batch earlier, as in being manufactured and delivered within a month-month and a half. For anyone with this kit, you can realize 60-85rwhp as the downpipe is the significant achilles heel on the kit. You can go back through the threads and see the dyno graphs for the upgrade...Lethal Performance TX and I hit 961/945 std rwhp/tq yesterday and I would have been well into the 1000's with the 3in downpipes, not to mention the trq gains throughout the powerband...

So, with that being said, Rob has left me to collect a group of individuals that want the upgrade and that will be committed to purchasing the kit. Pricing would become more aggressive in 5 set increments. Upfront, looking at pricing to be $1600 without the gb. The cost isn't in the piping or the materials, but the craftsmanship for the radius of the cutting, welding, the flange setup, and the curvature of the pipe in relationship to the wastegates.

Where are these getting made? Will these be able to utilize Evolution wastegates or will have to change to Delta wastegates? V-band bolt clamps or couplers? More information please.

I ordered a TTix kit in January and asked for the 3" downpipes. I just called today, and George told me it'll be "months" before the kit ships unless I want 2.5" downpipes. I'm waiting to see when my shortblock gets wrapped up, because I might just say screw it and take the 2.5" downpipes and buy the 3" ones when they're available. I have to weigh waiting longer for 3" from TTi, or paying a bunch to get them earlier from Champion. Blah.

As demand for 3" down pipes increases George will have move into production sooner, but if anyone wants a set we can build one set every two weeks. Please call or PM if you want to order.
Rob.
