The covers aren't plastic, they are alum. But taking them off might allow a cooler temp.

4lbs each. The last time I checked the dominant heat retention mass under the hood was the block and cylinder heads. Our engines are water cooled....not air cooled. The covers will have little impact on engine heat retention....a centri owner's myth.

little heat retention when you already bolted a heat pump on top of the motor....

All superchargers and turbos create heat, that's a known fact.


I really don't see it as a big problem, since you're not out road racing your car.
