I have a 2007 C6 that I've added an A&A T-trim kit to. Because we don't have too many experienced (LS) tuners on island, I went with a tuner that was recommended on the mainland and sent datalogs/tunes back and forth. I've run into a problem with the MAF maxing out at 5400 rpm. I put the car on the dyno today and she pulled a mere 446/416 (5400-6500rpm)on 92 Octane and 7lbs. The lines are nearly straight until it hits the 5400 area, then she flatlines and breaks up.
Is it normal for the MAF to max out so early on such a moderate amount of boost? Do people usually change the MAF to a card style like the LS3/LS7 or do the just go speed density? I'd really like to keep the car tuned with the MAF.
Something doesn't sound right. The MAF shouldn't be running out at that power level. Are you using HP Tuners? Do you have a wideband you can install into the exhaust and connect to the interface?
I am using HP tuners. I didn't have the Wideband hooked up for the dyno, but if I remeber right from the last datalog (after the tune was finished), the car goes from 11.6 to 9.99 or so at 5400ish. I don't have the laptop with me, but I can get it later tonight.
I am flying out to Phoenix on Thursday and won't be back before the last week of the month. Was planning to talk with some of the shops there.
Can anyone tell me the difference between a loaded and unloaded Dynojet? I was told the shop had a loaded Dynojet, but when I asked the guy running it if he could make one pull without a load, he said it wasn't loaded and explained that it was standard SAE readings. It might make some sense if the dyno were a loaded one and gave "real world" power that you would see day to day on the street, but not if it were a standard pull.
Thanks for the help.
Ryan
Edit: the WB was reading low 11 high 10s, then progressed to low 10s before the MAF maxed out.
