Do you need some where to store the old motor?

Good luck and hope I can make it to Milan to see it.

Ohhh, Not a bad problem to have...

As I have found out recently, building a dedicated race car is not as easy as it sounds. You can drop 10 grand in an hour and have virtually nothing to show for it. Sponsors make life WAYYY easier. Its still expensive as he!! though for the owner.

I really believe if you tune the car right and take care of it, that it will last a long time.

This season we have no less than 100 passes on the car at full boost! That is 1800rwhp over and over again and the motor and car loved it! I drove it to a few local events this year as well and reguardless of if it was street driving or racing, the motor was awesome.

We expect the new ERL mill to do all that and provide even MORE POWER!

Hopefully the bigger cam, higher compression, and Solid roller setup will give us at least 200rwhp more. Combining that with over 100lbs less weight and we expect to see some great things happening by the LSX Shootout in September.

We will be at the LS Fest with the car and I expect it to be a great time. Hope to see a bunch of you there!
Bestof luck with the new block , keep pushing the envelope , and stay safe , go get that IRS record from the Viper !!!!

Are you going to be stepping up to a motor plate? Or are you staying with the traditional motor mount locations??

Last Year, when preparing for our build, that was a sticking point for me. I decided to go around and talk to the guys in the 1800-2300rwhp range. The guys with aluminum blocks who ran factory mount locations had some severe block/cylinder strain issues. Virtually every guy who was above 2K switched over to motor plate.
It was due to the side loading of the cylinder wall. The outside cylinder wall of the drivers side is the thrust/load side. I believe its also the side that loads under acceleration. The amount of outside pressure is going to be enormous. Especially when placing all of the strain on 2 cylinders.

Obviously IPS knows their stuff, so its nothin new to them; but it might be something investigate further. I'd hate to see such amazing momentum be stalled out due to a minor concern.

FWIW, I had competition engineering send us the front and mid plates. They seem to have the best mounting locations, and safest overall design. Some of the other ones only use 1 or 2 waterpump bolting locations for their mounting points.

Keep up the awesome results.

Why a 427 and not a 434 or 440? The cylinder bore would be 4.155 or 4.185? Too thin?

Is the 427 configuration stronger with the added cylinder wall thickness?

Thanks for sharing your project details.

The motor is all tucked into the car. We did the initial startup today and the new motor is cooling.

Hopefully tomorrow we can get it on the dyno and start tuning!

Tuned the car to 10psi today on the dyno. The new combo made 1140@10psi! We will finish the tune at Milan on thursday.
