Default Boost a pump question

I just purchased a supercharged c6 with quite a bit of stuff done to it. On my way back home from purchasing the car, it died on me...

Had it towed to a dealer and they said that the fuse to the fuel pump was blown because of the Magnavolt BAP.

The dealer routed a fuse for the pump around the BAP in order to get me back on the road as a temporary fix.

Not knowing a whole lot about BAP's... before I rip it out and buy a new one, is there a way of knowing if this BAP needs to be replaced or could it be something else in that area?

I'm not sure how the magnavolt is wired, but the Racetronix harness is supposed to help w/ this issue on KB BAP's. That's the combo I run and it's worked well so far (under 1k miles tho)

+1 on the Racetronix harness. Gives the BAP a dedicated power supply direct from the battery and plugs right into the stock harness.

I install the Racetronix Harness in all of my builds that use the BAP. They are cheap and easy to install.

I have and like that harness, on the other hand, make sure your BAP had/has the correct fuse amperage. My BAP came with a 25 and should have had a 30; I put the 30 in and it worked for another two years.

Also, make sure you're not driving the car too hard or in boost for the time being... the tune will be off w/o the BAP running and you'll be lean.

Thanks for the info. Anyone know of a place with the best price for one of those Racetronix harnesses?

It's been extremely difficult, but I have yet to go over 3500 rpm's since I got the car and yeah, it bogs down quite a bit if i try to give it some throttle in a higher gear (still in low rpm's of course)

Also keep in mind that the magnavolt is probably under the hood currently and most of the other BAPs go in the back driver side fender by the fuel pump wire harness.

Anyone know for sure if I can use the harness for the magnavolt? It would be a lot easier to replace the existing bap in the same location. I have not been able to find a replacement magnavolt though...?

I understand that some mount in the fender and some under the hoop, in fact I have had it in both spots. Does this matter? The reason I ask is I am thinking of adding a BAP again. I just can't watch my fuel pressure drop under boost (even though it's tuned for it). My plan is to mount it in the rear fender using my racetronixs harness.

I don't know if it would make that much of a difference if you have a big enough power wire. Although having the voltage increasing mechanism as close as can be to the pump means less of a voltage drop.
