Chuck,

That's an awesome offer, thank you. If we are still in "undetermined" status by lunch Monday then I'll take you up on that offer. I'll be on the phone first thing Monday with SCT and Edelbrock trying to resolve this.

Chuck.

You are a prime example of this (mostly) great corvette community. A noble offer indeed. I wish I was closer to you so that you could do all the work on my car but its still mostly a "CoW" machine and still running great after 5000 miles.

Wish me luck guys...

Headed back to the dealership today and I expect to spend the majority of my morning on the phone with Edelbrock and SCT. I hope Chuck's "first rate" comments hold true as they haven't in my experience so far.

At least today if all goes wrong I can leave with a bit of reassurance that I can exercise Chuck's very generous offer...

When my install took place, the SCT device screwed up my ECM. It took SCT to send a rep to work on my car. It took more than a week to get my ECM to function again. They finally woke it back up and as soon as that, we threw in an EFILive tune and started working from there. I still have the dieseling issue but at least my car runs.

Hi Elmer,

I recognize your issue from the Edelbrock forums and other places here. I'm sorry that happened--I hope our issues are the exception rather than the rule...

Edelbrock just contacted me again with another tuning suggestion. I tried it and it still dieseled. The suggestion of a possibility of me changing ECM and calibration is being discussed now with Chuck. Edelbrock says the dieseling condition is only happening on the 2007 model using the tuning calibration that I'm running. Sigh.... am I one lucky sumbitch or what?

Hey Elmer.... There are two different cals for the 07 car.... It's easy enough to switch

your tune to the other operating system.....

Hm... Ok, give me a hint and I'll try and get the CAL and figure out what needs to be switched from my current tune and how the hell to do that. If it's not rocket science, it sure seems to be worth the effort. I've sent you my current tune earlier today.

I just went to holdencrazy and only see 1 CAL for 2007.

No problem.... I'll try to get the files and some instructions to you tonight.

In it's present form, The EFI LIVE software will not let you compare unlike operating

systems even if they are the same year and vehicle.

You will need to open EFI LIVE 2 times.... One with the current tune and one with the new tune.

You can switch between them and copy each item one at a time.

Whelp, old retired people got plenty of time so I can do the copy and paste thing and watch football or drink a beer. Geezers can multitask with the best of them!

Thanks for the help.

Sorry to have hijacked the OPs thread. I'll be quiet now..

Sorry sorry! Yesterday afternoon was crazy and this morning hasn't been better.

I was able to drive away from the dealer yesterday! I'm having to learn how to drive all over again but I'm loving the performance gain.

There's one last detail to work out before this is fully resolved and I've promised Edelbrock I'll update once that's nailed down.

Also, glad to see you have a possible solution to your dieseling issue -- Chuck is a prime example of why I turned here for help!

My bad lol.

Edelbrock supplied a custom tune that mu ECU accepted. Since the tune was supplied by them, I've already received confirmation that their extended warranty is still valid.

I'm not comfortable discussing the last issue until it's resolved.

Actually, it sounds as though Edelbrock fixed their tune for the SCT handheld and got something to load that would run. Excellent result.

Now, what's the last glitch!

My PM works!

Yeah, I got that, I'm just commenting on Chuck's offer to help. Top notch!

Jack.

P.S. I've been critical of his advertising practices in the past and felt that if I can be critical at times, then I should also be supportive when the situation seems to warrant it!
