Please Help: Edelbrock E-Force 1575 Tune Needed
I'm coming to this community in urgent need of help. The story is very long, but the Cliff's Notes read that my 2012 Grand Sport has been in the shop since November 10th to install an Edelbrock 1575 kit.
After many setbacks and surprises, we got to the last mile on Wednesday. The final hurdle -- the car will not take the tune supplied by Edelbrock nor will it take the updated version from their website.
Edelbrock doesn't know when they can solve my problem. They said they don't have a tune for this kit on the 2012 (although the manuals clearly state "2010 AND UP" GS models).
I know we have vendors here who do Edelbrock installs. If ANYONE has a tune file that will work with my 2012 GS on the 1575 kit, if you could please send it to me I would be very much in your debt.
I'm not sure what you need to know about this vehicle so I'll just list anything I know about the car:
S/C serial number: 1955 (model #1575)
2012 Corvette GS 3LT, manual transmission
VIN: 1G1YS2DW8C5100578
CA emissions package (and by extension 91 octane fuel only =[)
NPP exhaust option
Magnetic ride option
Please help... I've been without my car for two weeks and without this tune, who knows how much longer I'll be without. I'm racking up thousands of $$ in rental car costs while this issue goes unsolved (they're hella expensive around holidays...).
Thank you to anyone who can help...
The quickest way (although there is a cost associated with it) is to have someone with HP Tuners build you a calibration based off the existing LS3 Edelbrock tune (readily available) and squirt that into your ECU using HP Tuners. If you were local I could do it for you for the cost of licensing the VIN to my HP Tuners. You didn't fill out your profile with a location but I suspect you can find someone in your locale who'd be willing to do this.
It's probably obvious, but I'm pretty new to this. I guess my first mistake was assuming a "bolt-on" kit is really bolt-on, but that's neither here nor there.
I'm in California and I don't know who to ask about this. I noticed you're in Florida so it'd be a bit difficult to get over there but I appreciate your offer

I have no issue with purchasing necessary hardware/licenses to get this done. If I were to purchase an HP tuner, could you create the file you mentioned? *someone* is bound to be open today--it's black Friday...
Also -- updated profile, thanks for bringing that to my attention!

Your problem is, at least I think the problem is, that Edelbrock has not yet touched a car with your specific ECU yet...too new. I would think they would jump on this and "get er' done" on your behalf but it doesn't sound like they have.
Update your profile with a location and lets see if a good Samaritan local to you will chime in and get you on the road.
P.S. I'm a little surprised that your install shop does not have HP Tuners in their possession.
They may have this -- it's a dealer. For better or worse, Edelbrock recommended a dealer install it for warranty aspect and I trust this dealer to do me right. They've been *extremely* accommodating though all this mess.
The E-force uses an SCT X3. I've been searching all night and I've found strong evidence that this device has successfully written to a 2012 ECU. I think my tech may have not updated the firmware on the module -- I'm headed over there today to try that. I noticed Hennessey sells these modules for "2008-2012" corvettes and I've been trying to call their TX office since 8AM local; however, they may be closed for the holidays.
@RoadRebel, I'll try that if I can't get my hands on a solid solution before 7AM local. Fremont is just up the road but the car is in Redwood and they may be closed today... Thanks for the tip!

Edelbrock has been ... less than accommodating in this situation. I'll stop short of saying more than that but at the rate they're going they've lost at least my business and possibly anyone who asks me for a reference.

mid day on Wednesday.....
It's too short notice to get you an AutoCal, but if you remove the pcm and overnight it to me on
Monday morning, I can get it back to you within a day or so...
While it might not win a dyno contest that way it surely should start, run, and drive until you can
get a full tune with a wideband....
Contact me saturday @ 914-332-0049 and I'll see what I can do for you....

Here is the thread I posted about it. During the upload stock phase my SCT programmer would error every time. Edelbrock bounced me between their tech support and SCT's support. Neither was very helpful. They also had me flash my ECU to a different version which didn't help. Finally I got sick of playing around and had them overnight me a new programmer. This resolved the issue. Is the error message similar to mine?

They are extremely receptive to customers with issues.
If the trouble turns out to be on SCT's side of the equation, you might be better off
shipping your pcm to me or someone local to you...
Newer E-Force units have a different T-MAP and the tune is a bit different for them.
Just be sure that whoever you get to help you is up on their Edelbrock tech.
I've forwarded this thread to my guys at Edelbrock...
I'm sure we can get this up and running without too much trouble.

Edelbrock has been around a long time, I'm pretty sure they don't want to have unhappy customers and will do whatever is in their means to fix any issues that arise.
The issue right now isn't the tune revision, it's the ECU part number.
I appreciate everyone's help... up to 16 days with no drivable car now.
direction from them.
Again, if you want to ship the pcm to me... Don't delay.

That's the last we heard from them as well, but our version was appended with "but we don't know when we'll have this resolved." I'm glad they (SCT included) could all take off and enjoy thanksgiving while I rack up another $400 in rental car costs.

This way you get out of the dealership... and then you can switch back to the
original when you get the final tune for the car..... This way you never give up your original
and you can have it running right away....
Let's see how Monday goes.... If you're going to have to wait an un-determined amount of time,
then we can get you up and running in a day or so.
If you're interested, PM me your YEAR, MODEL, and VIN# and I'll see if I have a good spare to send you.
