vortech supercharging

How much hp lost is this there when your not on the boost on a vortech supercharger compare to turbocharging which is basic free??

About as much as an alternator. VERY little. with the BOV open, the blower is freewheeling.

Why would it matter how much hp you lose when you aren't in boost? If you are cruising then a few hp shouldn't matter anyway. Not trying to be smart... just trying to get some context to your question (although you should listen to the previous poster

)
