I've read a few threads on this and know it can be an issue getting coverage. I'm with Traveler's right now and asked them what they would do if I had a tune, headers, exhaust, supercharger, etc... they won't cover the car. Same thing with GEICO. I'm in TX and although some people have good things to say on GEICO still covering a car with an aftermarket sc, no luck for me.
I am using State Farm in Tennessee. I have all of my insurance with them and have benn with them for over 20 years. I inquired about purchasing additional coverage on my car due to all of the mods. I was in short told that State Farm did not offer any type of rider or additional coverage for newer model vehicles that had been highlt customized. That as long as the vehicle was "street legal" whatever that means... then I should simple document all of my work with receipts and pictures. If any event occurs the adjuster would review my documentation and handle my claim accordingly. They also were quick to tell me that if I decided to cancel my insurance on the Vette and insure it with another carrier that i would void my multicar discount and possiblly see increased rates due to the fact that I had elected to seek coverage through someone else. Insurance is nothing but a scam and I will probably be in for a long legal battle if my car gets wrecked or stolen.....
Well I just called State Farm. I am in Texas and apparently adding a supercharger disqualifies the car. So that's State Farm, Traveler's, and GEICO all refusing to cover the car if I make these mods.
There's gotta be someone in TX that has found an insurance company that will cover you?
I have no idea if its the same rules but here in Canada I am with The Guarantee insurance Co. Of North America and they cover me with mods. They didn't charge any extra but did make me get an appraisal.

Went to their site and clicked the link to contact them. Brings up a map of Canada. Doesn't look like they cover us in the US.
Mine is insured as a collector car because it does not get driven that much. I would try these guys in Dallas if it car be done they will get it done www.thephoenixinsurance.com

We have a winner! These guys got me quotes. I'd pay a few hundred a year more, but worth it for the peace of mind knowing they can't leave me hanging because I didn't disclose modifications.
Grundy if it is a third vehicle you can put it as a collector car.
thats what we have
have both my cars on their
her 05 vette and my TA
only problem is, not covered at any type of racing or using Nitrous
but i have agreed value and cheap yearly fee
so worth it
despite that i want to run nitrous for her
Yea but don't you want multiple quotes for the best price?
Yes and I will call them when I do this. My primary concern was whether ANY insurance company would insure this, since most shoot it down. Most guys just aren't even telling their insurance about their mods.

I know we couldn't work in your situation Mark (daily driver), but maybe we can help some folks on their premiums and account for the engine mods with an agreed value policy. We write collector car insurance at the National Corvette Museum. Check us out at www.ncminsurance.com and put together a quote. If you have a Z06 be sure to switch the classification from "Auto" to "Exotic" and select Modified. This will give you an accurate rate.
