My 4th or 5th fuel pump just went out on me today. This one have even less miles than the previous one. Probably around 400miles!!!!
There must be something causing those fuel pumps to go out but can't figure it out. None of the wires or anything else got changed. All stock. All we did this time is -8an feed line, and reused the stock feed line as a return line.
Is it just luck? E85? Or is it possible that something else is causing those pumps to go out on me!!!!?
I am getting frustrated. I didn't have a lot of fun in this car ever since I got it rebuilt. It spends most of its time at the shop.
A wise man told me not too long ago to get some 5gal fuel and set this thing on fire but I didn't listen to him LOL
Any ideas? Since it will need a new pump might as well get the walbro 450 pump
this is on my C6 Z06. 441ci N/A with nitrous. I have a dedicated fuel cell for the nitrous

I have over 10k miles on my z06 pump and over a thousand since the e85 conversion, no problems yet. I also know others running the 400 pump for several thousand miles on e85 with no issues.
I think there must be something else causing all your pump failures. Sucks to hear another went out on you so soon.
See the problem is ever since I switched to E85 I stared going through pumps. First 2 pumps the car only had heads and cam setup. And it was all stock the fuel system wasn't modified in anyway. The third pump was with my 441ci. Fuel system was all stock too. Now this pump all we did was a return system. All the wiring is stock. So what would it be?
Something has to be killing them. Wiring, or something.
the wiring was never changed. all stock. the tanks are coming down tomorrow and we will check the wiring. again it was never changed.............
first pump had 40k miles with not a single problem. as soon as I switched to E85 it failed (after a month or two) the same with the other ones. after couple months they start failing.........
Besides the fiter on the bottom of the pump do you have a stainless micron filter on any of the feed lines anywhere?? Also where are you getting your gas from, have you tested it and also when you had your tanks out did you clean them??

the tanks were cleaned the 2nd time it was out. not sure about the last two though as I didnt think they will need to clean them again with only couple months on each pump. I dont think we used any filters on any of the feed lines, I will double check but I am pretty sure we didnt. I have tested the gas and it was always true E85 (even in the winter!!!)
do the racetronics hot wire set up, i think it is less than a pump. it takes power right off the back of the alternator, the relay mounts near the pump. i run the twin set up, second pump comes on at 4psi. you can switch a terminator plug to swap pumps, give your primary a break. lonnie hooked me up!

I really dont need the extra pump. the car is N/A with nitrous and I have nitrous outlet stand alone. I will talk to Racetronics after we check the wiring tomorrow and see if there is alternatives (assuming it was wiring issues)
I just ordered a walbro 450 pump with overnight shipping. it should be here Thursday... hopefully I will be able to make it to the track on friday... I doubt it though.......
The only thing I can think of is something's up with the wiring, or something is clogging your pump and then burning it up. An inline filter on the feed line in between the hat and the rails isn't a bad idea just added insurance.

thanks I will def do that. the guy I talked to about it didnt say anything when I asked him. he did few on those Z06s and I thought we will just do it the same way he did. he didnt mention anything about using any filter on the feed line. but thanks for that.
I am looking for some e85 pumps for my car too. Just found this.
WARNING: If you plan to run E85 fuel you must be prepared to install proper filtration, and maintain it as frequently as every 10 run-hours. If not, Aeromotive does NOT recommend you the use of E85 with the 340 Stealth Fuel Pump.
I know thats not the pump your running but its something to think about.

a lot of people here are running E85 with the stock fuel system without any modification. its only me that been having issues. as I mentioned earlier, I just ordered the walbro 450LPH which is the new E85 compatible pump from walbro similar to the 400LPH. it should be bigger and better than both the aremotive and bosch but I dont really know....
Out of curiosity, have you bench tested any of these failed pumps after removal? What's the symptom when they fail? Most oem fuel pump failures I see are because the pumps seize (or fail internally) and won't make any noise.
I'm just wondering if you have some intermittent wiring problem that makes you think your pumps keep failing. Bench testing should answer that, though.
i dont know whats up with yours man... i switched to e85 with mine, with no issues, only mods to my fuel system are 1000cc injectors, and a Boost-a-pump
